Bike riding is an inspiration. Thanks to everyone who participates for making it so much fun. Lets prove we can keep it cool and fun no matter what the cops do. This is something worth protecting.

WHAT?!?!?!?!?
Did I see a COD under the MR banner?!?!?!?!?
There will be percussions for this!!!!
So lets see, this ride was,
antagonistic toward traffic
negative and stagnant
does not grow a constituency of riders
net value of this ride is a negative
the ride is filled with hate
riders yelling at motorists
Did I miss any?

Running red lights.
Picking fights with motorists.
Not staying in the right hand lane.
Having a bad attitude in general.
Not only does this gives cyclists in Los Angeles a bad reputation in general, but aren't these some of the reasons why The Original Founders of Midnight Ridazz stepped aside?
A few bad apples in an otherwise lovely orchard could jeopardize a very precious soical event if precautions are not taken.

@ Sir lance alot who never posts or is obviously hidding behind an old handle..You speak on what you read on the previous thread YOU were not there hot shot!!!!!!!!
Running red lights. What ? if we"re deep enough to cork intersections, great. if not don't run red lights. The kids on the Hollywood Ride for example were at first, a little shaken up by the 10 unit police presence in the begining. After our first turn on 6th not only did we regroup but also kept a moderate pace and needed to stop to regroup only once after, from my recognition we all hit the the boulvard at the same time no one left behind "NO ONE".
Picking fights with motorists. who?
Not staying in the right hand lane. I believe everyone stayed on the right except for the one kid that got in front of Ester making her fall. He was clearly new to riding(inexpirienced). Ester I know you're already feeling better. I hope, you're a tough one !
Having a bad attitude in general. Who? What are you talking about? Srsly dude, of who do you speak? All I remember, I was there after all ,we're smiles and fun and good times...

No one has been clear about why the original MR founders stepped aside, and we have yet to hear or read a statement from them detailing why they are no longer affiliated with MR.
As far as running red lights....CM & MR both do it. It is part of the ride.
We are out to educate not aggravate. Most of the hostility comes from the drivers themselves. They are the angry and aggressive ones, not the riders. No one who rode on the CM or the Hollywood Ridazz ride was angry or looking for trouble.

wrong. how can you speak for 100+ cyclists? I witnessed boneheaded activities on Hollywood Ridazz. heckling motorists at intersections seem to be an ongoing problem. so is throwing glass on the street.

I can only speak for the riders I know and hung out with. None of them were angry or prepared to engage in confrontations with drivers.

There was one pissed off driver that got out of his car and was going through the crowd looking for someone. This was on SM Blvd, and he never found the person he was looking for. Apparently there was some dent on his car. This was on the MR ride. I tried to get some info on what went down. I think the driver was being aggressive towards this rider, but it's hard to get the correct details if you haven't got the two parties to ask them.

User1 is right. We need to have
at least two parties per night. One in a warehouse, and one in a bus in a warehouse.

as to that dude looking for the rida
he attempted to run down this kid on a bmx when the group was making a left turn, the kid stopped, flipped his bike over on the street and yelled what the fuck at him, and a few other choice words which were drowned out by the pass of sir harry... anyway, the entire time the dude was lurching his car forward at the kid and his bike... As I went by I remeber seeing a dent in the dude's grill, but if it wasnt there before, it was from actually hitting the dude's bike.

So in essence the guy in the BMW SUV was using his car to threaten, terrorize and intimidate the BMX rider.
A one ton vehicle is a weapon...a BMX bike is not.
Yet I bet this BMW guy called the cops.

i heard thru the grapevine that that bmx'r wasnt even part of the group ride and as the car was harassing him he flipped his bike over and slammed the footpeg into the car. The grapevine also says that the driver was a big wussbag and didnt want to get out of his car even after the incident happened. If this is the case then he was probably trying to save face after the bmx'r took off.
