Austin vs. Burning Man

I have two options for myself:
Either I go to Austin, or I go to Burning Man.
If everybody got it together by late June and decided to go to Austin together, I would be happy to go there and sacrifice going to Burning Man.
If nobody got their shit together in regards to Austin and it never happens, I REALLY want to go to Burning Man.
The reason I cannot do both is due to my lack of money, play-time, and my responsibility to be with my wife.
I guess I still have some time to decide, as we have not made any definite plans toward Austin - except that I picked the dates June 27th through July 6th. We are in the process of getting a Bus together or even BUSES?...
I don't see a huge demand for Ridazz who want to go to Burning Man, I really think if we want to have an incredible camp together - we should have been discussing and planning this as early as possible...
I wonder if anyone else has the same issues as I do, or at least similar, and what are they going to end up doing? There may be some lucky few who have the ability to do both. I don't know.
oh geez.

I'm pretty sure that Austin, pictured left, will destroy Burning Man in a fight:

I am pretty sure I can NOT go to Burning Man this year. Not unless I sell some eggs. I am most def. down for Austin!! I feel like I'll going to burn out, even though I'm not doing much now, if I commit to all the things I WANT to do I'd probably flake out on half of them. I am for sure on the Austin list! >^..^<

isn't it too late for eggs? Don't they just sell those around Easter. I sure do miss the solid Helen Grace chocolate easter eggs, with walnuts.
Won't you just get a trip to Disneyland if you sell so many of those?
Count me in if you do.

I have valuable Jew eggs! People pay top dolla for them! I have already explained my personal stance on egg donation.... I will not do it, for fear of being killed by my own offspring (are they still called offspring if you dont actually birth them?) I believe my bad driving to be a genetic flaw... my mom is a terrible driver... so am I... TADA! SCIENCE!!

I find this thread REALLY disappointing. I'm not feeling like going to either now. Seriously. Laying down absolutes, like one or the other, blah blah blah, is bringing me down. Why? Some of the people that can do one, can actually do both. Most people can't do either. Most people especially, can't do both. I understand this. But throwing out a thread, with something black and white like this is sad. What about HOPING YOU CAN DO BOTH?
This fucking sucks.

I'm torn that's why.
I can't do both. I still don't know which to do, but now I'm starting to lean towards Black Rock City...
This thread was not meant to disappoint, but to discuss.

mixie, sorry about the Christian reference, since you have jew eggs and all.
maybe you could sell some Jews for Jesus those easter eggs. I'll still buy one. How about you make fudge and sell it on the street, or at work. Remember those characters doing it in San Fransisco?
I'll buy some fudge.
What all this talk of eggs and chocolate? must be period time again.

I didn't mean to piss you off Dak.
I just needed to express my personal dilemma.
I am in support of BOTH!
I'm trying to STIR THE POT HERE!
Otherwise, I think you know what I think what will really happen.

I'm actually leaning more towards the Black-Rock desert thing myself.
I just see going to Burning Man with the Ridazz as a more enjoyable thing if I'm taking a weekend, or so off.
As far as Austin goes, it sounds cool, but regardless of the MR-involvement, I feel like that place will be on a potential, future "list-of-places-to-get-a-load-to/from" once I've had my ass removed from the ostracization-list of CDL-holders.
Burning Man seems to be a little, more trickier to make due to it being out of the way for a typical, load haul.

"Ist their a date for Burning Man?"
It's during the week before Labor Day.
"I love the dessert."
I love the flan.
"What do we need to prep. for it?"
Buy tickets now, gather supplies that will last you a week, buy a big fluffyfur coat (that seems like all the rage), come up with a theme even if you aren't in a registered camp,
read this.
"Can you post a discussion list or refer me to one?"
Keep an eye out here for the BM thread.

I'm been working on it last night. There's a strong possibility now that I may go to Austin, but I am definitely going to Burning Man.
I'm glad through this pointless & ridiculous thread that people are beginning to raise questions and discuss the relevance and importance of going to both of these events. I hope all of us Ridazz will make it happen.
Burning Man will be such a rad experience if we have a big group meeting there together. It's well worth the effort it takes to plan for. We need to plan for it... It's not a go on a whim kind of trip.
Dates for Austin, TX - June 27th - July 5th
Dates for Burning Man - Aug 25- Sept 1
Keep discussing, and asking

The first time we went to Burning Man, it was on a whim. Don't forget that, and it was one of the best times ever...
