rad, i love the recent surge in bass/d&b interest and events postings. R3, you seem to have a better handle on some current venues than the rest of us, please keep us updated just as you have been. I'll be looking to join in sometime soon.
also, I know we have djs in the ridazz community, if any of you want to throw out an invite, I'll be more than happy to put together a ride-to ride. I know the interest is there.
Well there is a big difference between "DUB" and "Dubstep"
that difference being, Dub is an old style of jamaican music that was born in the 70s from extra studio time and b-sides.
DubSTEP is an electronic music, coming from 2-step, and mixed with drum-n-bass elements.
haha anyway....
Some good dubstep cats to check : Matty G; Rusko; Benga; and LA's own 6Blocc etc, etc....
Thanks Justin, I love d&b, jungle, hardcore, etc, and I love dub, particularly Adrian Sherwood produced shit, not big on 2-step, but I'll check out more dubstep.
wha!? that youtube vid says it's RAD, but I really don't remember that part at all. I do remember backflips onto mattresses though.
all D&B nomenclature aside......sometime soon a ride-to event will happen, and Ridazz will be there, energy rudely exposed, tearing the place down—in true Ridazz fashion
I too am into dub, mostly original jamaican stuff, "Scratch", king tubby, augustus pablo, but my man main is Scientist! such amazing music!
And his band, Roots Radics created some of the toughest rhythms around.
I have something sherwood worked on, but I think it's actually a Perry release and he just co-produced. I think its called "De devil dead", its pretty tough.

Nice, I have a blind friend who works at UCLA and he's always trying to get me out to some of the local dub nights. I really need to give him a call.
On-U Sounds put out a hell of alot of stuff in the 90s. I tried to collect it all, but it was hard to keep up with all the releases. I did have a chance to see quite a few bands when I was in London though. That, I'll always treasure. One of my fav bands, among the many fav bands was Gary Clail. I saw him perform in a small hall in the basement of a pub there in London. Awesome show!
Here he is with Tackhead..........
BTW, do you happen to catch Tackhead about a year or two ago at that club that is at 1800 sunset? Close to where B rad lives.
Eh, my homegirl wants to roll.
But I'm pretty over respect....was thinkin about hitting up this spot called Fever, one of my homies is playing there and it's freeeeeeeee!
Yeah, I hear ya....I'm still kinda on the fence. If my homegirl can handle list for me then I'll be there...if not. Looks like I'm going on a solo ride! hahaha
