Join B+ and Eric Coleman in person for post screening Q&A and spinning in the courtyard. Cash bar open at 6:30pm.
if there is interest in a ride form the Eastside to the Hammer's FREE screening on I'll post it on the ride calendar. Otherwise I'll ride there by my own damn self.
Let's see who is interested and what works for people.
I'm not opposed to scoops, depending on who is interested, another meeting place might work better (?)
the screening is at 7 if we leave from the hollywood and vermont area I think we are looking at about 11 miles. assuming we may need to accommodate some slower ridazz or calculate the possibility of a flat I think 1.5 hours ride time should be enough. Perhaps we could meet at 5 and plan to ride by 5:30? If more people are interested we may need to leave BY 5 to accommodate a bigger and slower group.
Not a bad idea either.
We could have foodies meet at 4?
Its a balance between leaving as late as possible for the working folk and having plenty of time to get there without rushing.
I'm up for this! I kind of like leaving from Hollywood and Highland.
There's also a happy hour someone mentioned across the street from the Hammer that is a good stop. Not sure if you can work that in, but just thought I'd throw that out there.
word!
We will meet somewhat close to a Metro stop for sure.
User1's ride to the Hammer left from hollywood and Highland which worked great. We didn't have a formal food stop before but some of us grabbed burrito/ sandwiches and took them into the show (with no hassles).
I'm down to meet somewhere where we can get food, snack, or drinks first if that works.
Pure Luck would be great of course, or perhaps Sabor Y Cultura on Hollywood west of western, or maybe one of the spots in the Hollywood/ Vermont area.
I also thought that if there is an interest, would could possibly pick up some people along the way who may not be able to make it to the start point on time. Whatever we do I'd love to show up at least 15-30 mins early so we can gat decent seats and not be rushing or sweating up the theater when we arrive.
I'd like to get some feedback from whoever is planning on going and we can come up with a final plan by sunday or monday depending on what works for inetrested people and what ever comes up.
Still taking suggestions on a meeting place.
I was thinking it would be good to field opinions of the next day or two before deciding.
I'm thinking it should be somewhere in Hollywood/East Hollywood, somewhat close to a Meto Station and possibly somewhere where people can get their food and drink on beforehand.
The only problem I see with the happy hour thing is that we would have to leave much earlier to have time for a drink near the hammer. Where as if we hit a happy hour on the eastside it could be a more optional . And we could have a little later (and more accommodating) depart time.
If we leave at 4:45 we'll get to the Hammer at 5:30 (latest) That would leave us with 50 min to chill at the Happy accross the street from the Hammer..
My only issue of trying to hit the happy hour near the Hammer is that I will likely be working on wednesday and it will be easier for me to roll out by 5-5:30. I'm willing to go with the flow if everybody wants to roll out earlier and hit the Happy Hour. But considering that we will likely be able to get our drink/ social on after the flick I'm not so worried about having an op to drink before hand.
I was just wanting to check out the happy hour across the street. I guess they have 5$ pizza that rocks! I would go with starting later if means we'll miss some of the ridazz.
Good idea on the flask. I'll be bringing a flask with Bacardi Rum. So just get a coke before we go into the movie. BTW, the flask is a smallish one so............
The Meet Time is: 4:45
The Start Time is: 5;00
The Meeting Point is Hollywood/ Highland
The Route is on the ride listing.
We will try and leave promptly and keep a moderate pace so as to arrive as early as possible. Hopefully we can arrive by 6:15 or 6:20 and give people a chance to Check the local happy hour (if still in effect), or find food, drinks, smoke, etc.
After words we will probably hang out and check out the DJing for a bit before finding food and/or rolling back.
My number is on the ride listing call me if you have any questions, get lost, or are running late.
Thanks for the input everyone ... I'm looking forward to it!
