If anyone would like to accompany me in climbing Cloud Burst Summit on Saturday morning, let me know.
Meet @ Encanto Park @ 8:45am. We roll out @ 9:15am.
Route is approximately 90 miles with some brutal climbs. This will be a very tuff ride...not to scare off any potentials, but be aware.
Ride Synopsis:
Start in Encanto Park in Azusa where I pick up the river trail and head north (instead of south to the Santa Fe Dam rec area). The trail ends and dumps you out onto Highway 39 (Azusa canyon road) where you roll along for a ways. Eventually, you come to a bridge. If you were to turn right (the road is called East Fork) and go across the bridge, you would eventually (6 miles) start climbing up the back side of Glendora Mountain Road. If you stay on HWY 39 instead of turning right, you pass the OHV rec area and start climbing. Just keep climbing for the next two or so hours and you will eventually hit the 2. Then, make a left hand onto the 2 and keep climbing up to Cloud Burst Summit. It’s pretty much downhill from there back into La Canada, although there is a little climbing. There isn’t any water in between Encanto park in Azusa and Newcombs ranch (which is a few miles down from Cloud Burst Summit), so bring plenty, especially if it’s hot. I usually make sure I have three full bottles at Encanto.

I'd love to do this with you, Cole, but I'm doing the CubLife Santa Barbara to Silverlake ride.

!!!!!CANCELED!!!!!
I regretfully have to cancel this ride on Saturday due to another opportunity to ride my ass off and hallucinate with some Cubbies.
Many of the folks that wanted to complete this ride were going to be unable to make it, so I will postpone it for another weekend very soon.
I apologize if this causes any commitment issues, but 200+ miles with some cubzzz sounds too fun? to pass up!

Can we call just to say Hi, and ask how you are doing?
What if we know who you are, but don't know you personally, can we call and ask about your mustache?

Dear Mr. Traffic,
I am inclined to attend this ride with you (yeah right), however, your inability to read a calendar raises concerns as to whether you possess the skill set to adequately read a map. What can you say to assuage the fears of myself and others that we might accidentally ride up the wrong mountain?
Sincerely,
Concerned
