Ride Arc emailed the people on their mailing list too. This will be awesome.

Hey people

Im going to this ride with 3 other friends. We all live in the Silverlake/Los Feliz area and would like to know if there are more people that live in this area that would like to join us on the way back proly up Cesar Chavez/Sunset Blvd. I am guessing the ride will be over too late for catching the last metro.

Will there be spokecards with the route on it? I cant get that interactive map to print today :(. . .

Thanks!

2nd to glendale is seriously so much easier than going up cesar/sunset.

Not to mention the road is in a little better condition than sunset is, and lately when I've been riding it at night the traffic is very very light.

Any organizer or whoever else. Big Bike Dan will be here without his Ipod. SO make a play list and bring it on your ipod. I'm making one right now, but if one the organizers brings a play list on an MP3, we will play whatever you see fit.

Eddie I hope this helps with your "shall I work hard tonight" or :"shall I be lazy" dilemma.

what a sweet, fun, excellent ride!

Kudo's to the gang tthat stayed late in the parking lot and tthen fixed LaHarr's flat and then fixed BBDan's 4 (yes, FOUR) flats!!!! Every single wheel of his was flat witth multiple puncture wounds. Darn thorns!

I think Bike Oven may have picked up one of the worlds sweetest bikes - but someone else will have to ttell thatt story...

I'm just totally blown away by how well this ride came together and went off. I can't thank Big Bike Dan enough for coming out with his sound system and saving me from futilely yelling my vocal chords to a certain death. And what can I say about Sexy: not only did he step up on his own with a phenomenal bridge-related playlist for Dan to pump out, but recognizing that Mr. Rollers' most excellent spokecards could also be used as bookmarks just warmed this Int'l Armed Librarians heart.

It was mine and the IAALMAF's absolute thrill to carry the temporarily fallen RIDE-Arc torch and to show off the bridges we traversed. To everyone who came out to share in the exploration THANK YOU!!! What we did last night was a rare thing. When you think about it there aren't many places in the world where one can cross 10 historic bridges in a matter of a couple hours, and where most Angelenos go their entire lives only seeing these L.A. River viaducts in movies and commercials, we got upclose and personal. Thanks for being a part of it and RIDE ON!

I would like to thank the organizers of this ride as well as Big Bike Dan for such a unique ride. It was nice from the get go with the preride instructions using Big Bike Dans speakers so we could all hear clearly. Then the nice empty roads because of the time and location. And the architecture not only of the bridges but also of some of the buildings in the area. And the views of downtown LA! And that pleasant industrial scent of Vernon... jk about that one. Also thanks for the nice spokecard/bookmark and the talks on the bridges. Thanks to Al (that also has a speaker with cool music) and a all other riders that were waiting towards the end for all the people having trouble keeping up.

Ever since I did my first ridazz event (an ally cat race in Pasadena last Dec.), I've been wanting to bring my daughter and tandem bike. Clare being a college student made it tough to coordinate schedules and find a ride when she was not at work or study. Friday was the day. The bridge tour was perfect. She was a bit skeptical on the drive over, but half way through the ride she was commenting how much fun she was having. Now we both go to work on her boyfriend!
Hats off to the organizers, Mr. Rollers and Big Bike Dan the music man. I think everyone who rode with us will want more after last night.

Great ride you armed librarians put together. I totally wanted to get pics of the bridges but got lazy to stop. Very informative and a great experience. I was really hoping that you guys were going to go under the bridges too. That would've been pretty cool too.

Man... I brought a couple friends and they were dying on the inclines. I lied and told them that there weren't going to be any. LOL... Can't wait for the next one.

Fonso... glad to meet you on the ride and thanks for hanging back with me and my friends. Oh.. .and glad to provide some of the tunes.

One last thing... How often does IAAL•MAF ride? Last one before this was the Serenity Ride (awesome by the way) back in July. Either way... can't wait for the next and great ride everyone!

Digable... that's a good question. This is basically the IAALMAF's seventh "spinvitational" ride with our first one being about a year ago.

Originally we'd talked about having a monthly open ride but obviously that never happened and as we get into the fall winter our regular weekday evening rides will probably wane a bit.

But to answer your question we usually get our shit together and do these bigger rides about once every couple months.

That was fun -- short and sweet! I enjoyed the short climbs a lot. Afterward some of us broke off and got late-night Japanese comfort food at Kouraku and saw all kinds of ridazz there.

Before the ride I was sceptical about it.
Bridges? Meh.
Been there, done that.
During the day and during the night.

But then as we headed south towards the Washington bridge and saw a bridge with a train over our heads, the stream of red bike lights in the industrial landscape, the historic light fixtures on Olympic, the climb on 7th, I saw views of the city I had never noticed before.

Great ride.
Let's do it again!
What I would add?
Seeing all the bridges in the reverse East/West direction.
The Farmlab project under the Spring street bridge.
Hollenbeck road by Hollenbeck lake and park
The tunnel to the river under the 6th street bridge.
