In advance of Next Month's Midnight Ridazz' Grateful Dead/Tie Dyed T-Shirt Ride, i am putting on a little Tie Dye Party at 650 Grand on Sunday, July 6th.
The full deets are below but i need to order the chemicals and dyes and wanted to get a rough idea of the number of people that will come by to make one. Not looking for a 100% commitment but any feedback would help gage the interest.

I'll plan on stopping by to make a shirt or two.

you're not gonna make us listen to the dead while we're making shirts, right? I feel like we shouldn't shower for a few days before doing shirts just to get in the mindset.

I will be their for sure Steve-0, I have a couple of shirts I'd love to dye.
Do you need any dye materials/ where are you ordering from ?

Karla,
Funny you asked. I am about to place my order after i get some questions answered and prices from 2 different companies.
What do you know about the process? I have support from yo-delicious and Mr. Rollers but they haven't done it recently and there are new chemicals and processes these days.
I am looking for anyone who has recent experience with the process to either advise or possibly help out with the party.
Lemme know!

Dharma Dies has a good kit for tie dying based on numbers of t's to be dyed and their dyes are beautiful/amazing... I'm assuming those dying will chip in for costs?
redridinghood06.27.08 - 1:09 pm
reply
Dharma rebadges Procion MX dyes (the type we will be using) and they are ultra dyes. And we are asking for a $5 donation from each person to cover costs of materials. (stated in the ride details).
Thanks!

Just another reminder:
Starting at 12 noon tomorrow (Sunday) we'll be making Tie Dye T-shirts in advance of next weekend's Midnight Ridazz' Grateful Dead/Tie Dye Tshirt ride.
So, find a white COTTON shirt or other piece of clothing and $5 to cover costs of the materials and join us for a day of stained fingers!

damn guys, when i left ya'll i was bombing down Alpine when there happened to be a lovely pot hole with my name on it. I hit it, front tire instantly exploded which makes steering nearly impossible and i broke both my pedals trying to stop. I'm really lucky i didn't wipe out. Had to walk the 2 miles home. Saw krespin on the way lol
If i had only gone to get a t-shirt, this wouldn't have happened! YIKES lol

Dude, Glad your okay. I can't believe both your pedals broke!
And yes, although you may have needed a shower, you should have chilled at Dan's place, it was a really nice afternoon.

Reminder to all the folks who have Tie Dye bundles marinating in plastic bags at home:
After 24 hours you must rinse out the dye in a sink by hand first. Then you need to put the item through a normal laundry cycle with soap. Its advised not to mix other clothes with it for obvious reasons.
Can't wait to see the results!

Chynna,
Nice meeting you yesterday. Nice to meet another Nikonian.
I think we'd all like to see the photos. I usually just create a web page, like Spiral does and share the link here. I also upload some of the pictures to the photo gallery too for all to see.
thanks.
