I'm looking for any kind of work where I can get money (real job, or under the table, I don't care, one day thing, it doesn't matter).
Save the prostitution, etc. jokes.
If anyone has any leads, for me, or anyone in need of some work, please holler.
I'm pretty close to putting my only bike up on craigslist. I might move home to Michigan late July if I can't figure something out.
Thanks,
mw

Someone get this guy a job.
He's the only social experiment I have. If he moves I'll have to start all over again.
What's your work history/what are you good at?
You can always go to a temp agency for a weird office job filling staplers and sharpening pencils, exc..

Careergroupinc.com is what my company uses for Temporary workers. I know 2 guys here that got placed here within a few days of signing up. I guess you just need to be ready to work every day on a moments notice. Mostly office jobs...nothing spectacular but you won't have to move back to Michigan.

You can work for Cha Cha. Not the bar we hit up on Thirsty Thursdays but the computer service. You have to have the interwebz, though. You answer actual questions people send you about pretty much anything. It's a human search engine. W00t.

Resume looks good. Problem is a Poli-Sci degree is incomplete. You are probably going to have to go to law school. Why not take out a student loan. Use some of it to live and the rest of it to get your JD.
Too bad we can't find someone who will pay you to do fixed-gear skids in a 7-11 parking lot. You would be set.

I have one for you, user "mikeywally."
A man arrives in Boston and decides to go out for some seafood. So he hails a cab and asks the cab driver, "Do you know anyplace around here where I can get scrod?"
And the cab driver says to him: "Buddy, I've been asked that question a thousand times by a thousand fares, but never before in the SUBJUNCTIVE PLUPERFECT!"
Ha, ha, ha!

The job market is very very tough right now. I am an experienced graphic designer and I have been on one interview in 8 months.
Companys seem to be looking for a perfect match for the most redicilous jobs.
If you have never stuffed envelopes, they won't consider you for the job of stuffing envelopes. Yeah, Fuzz, I hear the same shit..."Well, your skills are not a good match for the position of assistant envelope stuffer, good luck in your job search!".
I got turned down for a freaking meter reader job with the city of Anaslime because I have never read meters before.
I got turned down by Felt Bicycles for a graphic designer job because I didn't have any bike industry experience. Having bike industry experience has very very very little to do with creating good graphic design. I've done enough ads, brochures, etc. to do a competent bicycle piece. How do I get bike industry experience if I have to have it to get a job?
Losing that one really hurt.
So my application is in at Disneyland, to stand in a booth and take parking payments for $9 an hour, and oh, yes.. I must join the union to do it. If they call me with a job, I'm afraid I'll take it.
Meanwhile, I'm taking note of the suggestions you guys have offered on this thread.
Sorry for this extended rant, but I'm really getting tired of this job hunt.
Creative Thing06.24.08 - 5:03 pm

The cbest is really easy...it's like 10th grade level stuff. 3 parts, essay response included.
You also have to do a background check, get finger printed, and get an emergency sub credential from the state. All of this casts, mmmmm, maybe 250 bucks. And, it takes two or three weeks for test results and mail and stuff. But, the 250 bucks, you will earn back in a couple of days.
