Damnit, ever since Choppercabras (my first Midnight Ridazz ride/thing/whatever), my life has been turned upside down.
Two things:
1.) I used to be a lone rider. I very rarely, if ever, rode with other people. Now, every time I hop on my bike and peddle out the door, I am lonely. I miss riding with a bunch of people, even though I only rode with that many folks on that one day. I've never had as much fun as I had on that day. And I've had alot fun in my 44+ years. (OK, maybe that was a little blown outta proportions, but still.....)
2.) WTF???? I can not for the life of me quit drinking Tacate, which seemed to be the drink of choice at Choppercabra. I maybe drank it 2-3 times my entire life. Now I've got a case of it in the fridge.
Now, I guess I'll be getting my next fix at either Barchops, LACM or that funky assed Stuffed Animal ride.
Thanks fer turning me into a worse bike junkie than I already was.
hi Surfzomo! I'm like you...I used to ride alone, mostly. But, now I get to ride with a bunch of other people here and there throughout the week!!! I've found people to ride fast with...I've found people on bikes who want to ride and have fun and see what mischief comes....I've found people who want to ride together to learn about things they are unacquainted with....I've found people to ride with who want to ride a really long way. I've found people to ride with who want to challenge the generally accepted notion of what a bicycle exactly is...the list goes on. And, it's all pretty much free...
Who could ask for a better, more diverse group to ride with? I"m with you, surfzombo! I'm excited....
I seriously think we should ask Tecate for sponsorship. Then we can get cool riding jerseys and lycra, and maybe the less fortunate among us can get some gears on our bikes, and then we can become snobby and do Sunday morning rides from coffee shops, and stop drinking, which causes us to lose our Tecate sponsorship, then we won't be able to afford derailleurs anymore, fall into depression, start drinking again, then go back to the Tecate guys and pretend they don't know us and ask for sponsorship, then the whole vicious cycle repeats itself.
Thread is broken, and yet, so much better than frame inside frame nonsense of normal threads. Now if only someone would close the iframe in the first post on every thread, the site would actually work on an iphone and I could continue to procrastinate even when procrastinating in the bathroom at work. That's procrastination squared, beeyotch!
