Team MR Needs You

After many months of training and hard work, we are now approaching the last stretch before the
AIDS LifeCycle ride. We've biked all over the hills and flats of this city, hitting up the Hollywood Sign, frequenting Palos Verdes, cutting through the inner city and cruising down the river paths. I'm confident everyone on our team is on track to complete those 545 miles from SF to LA, and finish strong.
I've seen amazing improvement in everyone who been training with us regularly, and it's been awesome to watch. Liz, who nervously did her very first group ride ever, on our first training event, was hooked, signed up, and is now one of the strongest riders on the team and rockets up hills with ease .
As awesome and exciting as the biking is for all of us, this is first and foremost a fundraising event to benefit the fight against AIDS. Each rider is responsible for raising the fairly high minimum donation of $2500 to do the ride. Most of this money goes to the beneficiaries, but some is also necessary for the overhead cost of managing a supported bike ride of 3000 cyclists across 545 miles. We have several riders who have successfully already hit this amount, but many more who have not.
I'd like to see as many of us make it as possible, and would hate to see someone who has trained for so long not make the ride due to lack of funding. If you can spare any amount to any of our riders still fundraising it would be greatly appreciated and you tax deductible donation will go to a good cause. On our
ALC homepage, I have created a thumbnail gallery of our riders still short of the goal, with each picture linking to that riders individual donation page. Wether it's a $100 donation or $5 beer money for an evening, any amount by enough people can become a significant force.
This June
Team Midnight Ridazz wants to rock AIDS LifeCycle and introduce our unique brand of call outs, group humping, and team massage sessions across the state of California. You can help us get there. Thanks, and see you on the streets.
End of Transmission.

Aww Gary, you make me blush :)
Seriously though, this ride is going to be a really great thing for Midnight Ridazz. Perhaps the MR reputation isn't always as pristine as one might hope, so seeing a bunch of dedicated ridazz in our SEXY MR JERSEYS (as worn by Gary in photo above) doing a great thing like ALC can only do good for this community!
Please help more of our team members make their fund-raising goal, so we can keep a solid MR group representing at this event. Every little bit counts, so seriously... just a few bucks? Please? Do it for AIDS... for MR... or for the support of one or more of our very sexy ridazz.

Where / how do you get those MR jerseys? I'd buy one at a premium to support your ALC fund.

Stevo is going to defect from team100 and join us, cause TMR is sexy.

TMR Updates:
We launched our own website a while back, but it was unfinished with lots of broken links to non existent pages and left on the back burner. It's been rebuilt in a clean minimalist fashion. So now, here is the new
teammidnightridazz.com.
Congratulations:
Liz, Mark, Drew & Cathy on successfully reaching the donation requirement to participate in AIDS LifeCycle. It's tough training, but it's equally tough fundraising, and you have all excelled at both.
There is 20 of us planning to ride in June, and that's 4 people finished, so we still have a lot of people trying to raise money. You might run into one of us selling spoke cards, pimping vegan cookies, begging for money, or doing what ever else we can to reach that $2,500 donation requirement for each rider. If you'd like to contribute a tax deductible direct donation, our riders most in need of donation dollars are featured in photos on our AIDS LifeCycle page.
If you're wondering what our team's been up to on all these long training rides freakishly scheduled in the day light hours, photos of some of our rides can be found in our team's
flickr collection on my account.

When I last updated how we were doing on this thread, we had collectively raised about $30,000. We are now at a team total close to $50,000. It's down to one week left, and I'm going to be going up to the bay area earlier then most, leaving Wednesday. AIDS LifeCycle is right around the corner now, so there not much time left. If you would like to support our ridazz, the list of people still fundraising has gotten smaller, and the distance from their goals has gotten shorter. Any amount would be greatly appreciated, and I'm hopeful we'll all make it.
It's almost time to ride! E.X.C.I.T.E.D.!!!
