Hey everyone.... guess who's back. Did a stint in county jail for the little altercation last tuesday night special... and well... I need your help. EVERYONE. even if you weren't there. Those who were, you know me and Graham didn't do anything to merit arrests that night, now I have a court case and I'd like to avoid doing any future jail time so I could use all your help as eye witnesses to what happened that night. Thanks to those who stayed till the end to make sure we were alright and for bringing my bike home... Please let me know if you guys could help out, I would really really appreciate all the help. Thanks.

after i had that frozen ass orange juice i knew i needed to get the fuck out of that place.
I'm already $1600 in debt with the moms, and still gotta get someone to defend my ass.

Worst comes to worst. The public defender will defend you. They charge $925 to go to court. Not bad price wise. My understanding is they are not all that bad of a defense, is they think you have a case. Get all your witness together.
Usually what happens in criminal cases, is the district attorney will try to get you to pled guilty to a lesser charge. If you are not guilty,, don't take it (on principle). They might throw the case out when you go to plead. If you haven't pleaded yet, don't pay for a private attorney, it may be a waste of money. If they throw out the the battery charge, you will only be dealing with the trespassing charge. It all depends on what is written in the police report. Good Luck. this comin tuesday we should start plannin. those who saw can vouch i was just looking out for that person (no names needed) who yelled the comment that triggered the copper. i did absolutely nothing... which is why i'm so mad. also, can i sue them, because consequently i lost my job?

my best advice is look for pro-bono lawyers or hit up the ACLU for advice. it's typical police brutality, and you guys shouldn't take this without a fight. that's fucked up that you lost your job because of this, july. i definitely would look into holding them accountable your lost wages and "stress" due to this. i would not trust a public defender for shit. i've learned that public defenders are only there to make sure you're convicted. it's all a facade to convince you our legal system works when we all know it doesn't.

i definitely want to get compensated for emotional stress and for loss wages. thanks for the advice...
finding a pro bono lawyer is harder than it seems, though, but I will definitely look into that.
to be honest with you, after all the years of schooling i've had, i was always taught we're "innocent until proven guilty" but the system shows otherwise. it's blatantly "guilty until proven innocent" which is fucked up because at the end of the day... you will never be where you started.

word!
it's definitely guilty until proven innocent, july. it's sad that our justice system only works to feed our prison-economy complex. unless you're a white collar criminal with dough, then you're innocent.

exactly. this is a police state, subtle but quite obvious. and you're right... if you have your money right.. you could get away with murder, no need to cite examples.

actually it's true. money buys murder. Phil Spector is the latest prime example.

"exactly. this is a police state,"
It's actually no longer subtle. Take the Autonomous Fest last weekend. Over a dozen officers plus a CHP helicopter taken away from more important duties to shut down a small legal music fest and arrest an unfortunate musician for having ONE SINGLE LONG LOST DARVOCET OF HIS MOM'S up from the detritus on the floorboards of his van:

I don't know about what went down take this with a grain of salt but...
If it is as stated earlier that somebody said something to "set of the cops". that person should be held to account.
Its easy to talk shit when you are in a big group, but fucked up if others have to pay the price for your shit talking.
The system is a meat grinder. They assume that if you got caught doing something, or caught a charge, you probably did it, or at least have done it several times before getting caught. It's work to convince them otherwise.
best of luck.

Fuck that. We shouldn't have to live in a society where those who are sworn to protect and serve us can't handle a simple insult.

+1 Towlie.
It's not illegal to disagree with a police officer. It's not illegal to call a cop a fucking shitbag.
This country is going down the toilet so fast it's not even funny.

Don't know how its applies but there is the "fighting words doctrine". Not all words/speech are protected by the freedom of speech.

so are the words "don't worry he's just a rent a cop" enough justification to physically harass someone? and it's not important who said it.... just learn from this experience... be quiet... because it's hard to win against a cop. it can be done... but it's hard.
