GOOD LUCK!
You are all brave to be doing a ride out there. I'm curious to hear how ti turns out. If I'm available, I'm there

strange that you would post this because i was going to ride to my brother's house in simi valley that same day, but i would start in la.
it's pretty desolate out in simi valley, but there were nice bike lanes.
best of luck!

My parents live out there in Simi, in those cookie cutter "concentration camps".
I agree with Annie - nice bike lanes. However, all the SUVs on the street are going average of 50mph. Nice wide and well paved streets though!
Cops are fucking vicious to us non-conformist types too.

all the cops that don't live in Santa Clarita live in Simi Valley.
Remember
Lisa Arbauch's , Steal this Sweater that she had(I couldn't find a picture of the actual sweater). I had this idea for a contest a few years back. The contest was, go out to Simi Valley for say two hours, and steal as many of those pro military ribbon magnets off of cars, and whoever collected the most magnets, would get the sweater as the prize. I never even approached her about the idea. I don't think she would have gone for it, she protective of those creations.
Shit, I was looking for a picture of that sweater on her site and I come across
this, , we must have been thinking the same. I never seen that one before. I still don't think she would have given up a sweater.

I commute to Moorpark College to Thousand Oaks everyday, and Simi Valley doesn't do much for me. The part I go through consist of glass all over the roads, and big bro trucks haulling ass trying to see how close they can get to me. Westlake Village and Thousand Oaks has pretty good bike lanes. I swear when I go out on rides by myself at night, I might see 5 cars max- it's heaven out here.
PS- Joe Dirt is from Simi!

Yea, I actually rode on it yesterday. Not as cool as it seems. Felt like I was the first one ever to ride it. So much debris and glass, and they were still doing work on the shoulder so I had to hop in the lane a few times. Kinda unsafe, would rathe do it at night time.

The only appeal I see about Freeway bike riding, is the outlaw nature of the act. Besides that, WHY?

Well, in the case of the 23, there is no other way for bikes to get from Point A -> Point B, so they allow bikes for only like a 2 mile stretch.
