LACM - American Dream

OK so I volunteered to post up the ride for this month. I like the idea of having a theme about bleeding red, white, and blue and generally being a true patriot. One that will fight for his country. Even if that means beating up any country that looks at us funny!
So what I was thinking was to go to a patriotic movie before the ride. OK so normally we don't do anything like this on our rides, but this is right before the forth of July and the president really needs all the citizen to stand as one in this time of war. So what better way than to go see
Made in America? It would be great to see a movie that would inspire us to be better nationalist!
OK I don't plan to do anything other than to float this idea out to all before the ride, but I thought I would go to the board here and ask what they thought. Now I would like to remind you that you are not under any obligation to be as patriotic as I will be, but I think for your own safety, you may want to consider it.
So my idea is to take the ride to this movie that is going on downtown at 8pm. Indoctrinate the skeptical ones during and after this movie. Then take our message to the people on our bikes after the movie. Lots of peeps been wanting to go riding downtown and other spots we seldom go to. This would be a great time to do it.

User, I think it's a great idea for a ride. You can count on me and about 2 other people to join you on this ride.

...but remember that these things do have a way of getting out of hand. But excess awesomeness is an important part of the American experience, right?

Great idea User1! Grand Performances is an extremely nice venue, and it's always free (unless you feel compelled to donate some ducats). I recommend checking out their free summer shows regardless of whether we hit this up on LACM or not.

Oh yeah, big deal Mr. I-am-Canadian. Doesn't stop me from being all patriotic. Canada's version of July 4th, somewhat appropriately titled "Canada day," is on July 1st. There's like about half a dozen Canadian/half-Canadian ridazz out there that I know of, so hypothetically we can do a Canada day ride. I won't be able to make it since July 1st is on a Tuesday.

I like LACM, but I wanna ride not go to a movie. I think an actual ride is more Patriotic, and effective at teaching people about civil disobedience on a bike than watching a movie about it, but then again, this is Tinseltown...

I believe it's ride the bike for 4 miles to downtown. Watch a movie and drink beer. Then go riding to areas that we never go to. Such as East LA, and/or Chinatown, and/or downtown LA, and/or other options.

Ehh I guess... Those are the places we USED to go all the time, on the Original Midnight Ridazz (I will save that for another thread)... If the movie it is, mebbe we all go to it and those who want to continue to ride can, and then the movie watchers can meet up laters?
