Hello all....
This is an early one and fairly last minute.
Our friend and primary composer David Semien is graduating from skool and wants BBE to "crash" his recital at the CSULA music hall.
For the first time we will be on a real stage!
We'll meet somewhere near a goldline station, rehearse the composition, then a short ride to CSULA to perform.
The only hitch is that we will be meeting around
4pm on wed may 21.
That pretty early for working folk with a "normal schedule".
If you have any questions feel free to hit me up at
infos((at))bicyclebellensemble((dot))org
What is BBE?
Check out our
website.
YOU are welcome to enjoy us. Musical skills help but are not necessary.

It will be pretty exciting I think. And a fun intervention into an event that might feel a bit stuffy. The other performances will be of chamber works with violin, piano, and flute.

We will meet at the Plaza at Olvera Street at 5pm to gather and do a short rehearsal. We will start Riding at 5:30 sharp! please plan to show up on or before 5pm sharp.
From there we will travel (and perform) to CSULA (aprox 5.5 miles) possibly taking a short detour through Lincoln Park (for the people) and arrive at the CSULA Music Hall just before 6:30. If we arrive at CSULA early we will detour through the campus before descending on the music hall.
We are scheduled to perform promptly at 6:30 so we must arrive early or on time.
The working route is < ahref="http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/bbe-performs-at-CSULA">HERE
We will be going back to the classics and performing our first composition:
there is an explanation of the score

and a recording

This performance will be a part of David Semien's recital for his BM in Composition.
After the performance I will be driving off from CSULA in my Van (the baby dinosaur) to Miss T's Barcade in Koreatown where I am hosting my monthly party: http://defbeforedisco.com . You are all of course welcome to come down after the recital for music, beer, ramen, old school video games and a special performance by Sister Mantos.
if you have any questions fee free to contact me at: infos (ATTT) bicyclebellensemble (DOTTT) org
for all of those who have RSVP'd, and those on the fence, and everybody else I look forward to seeing you all. Soon.
My very best,

I'm going to try and hook up with the Ride of Silence ride in Pasadena if anyone wants to join me.
Yeah I know, rolling around the Rose Bowl sounds lame. Just want to go there to "bond".
Pasadena

Notes: Ride meets at 6:45pm in Lot K of Rose Bowl at the PAA/Merril Lynch Cycling Team tent. Please submit names in advance of riders who have been injured or killed. USER1,
We perform at 6:30 sharp at CSULA we'll be out of there at 6:45 at the earliest. I don't think you'll be able to do both if R.O.S. starts at 7.

I'd say, at the least be on train before 4:30 so you don't get denied.
