SETTING BUNNY FREE.

Does anyone know of a good place to set a bunny free? It's really depressing having a bunny locked in a cage and then letting it out to run around in you room. I don't enjoy this.

i'd be too sad. but the best place i can think of is a hike trail off las virgenes in Callabassas. right off the ventura freeway.

you gotta keep in mind what kinda bunny it is. i've saved a bunny before that wasnt wild so i did him a favor

aaaaaaaaaaalso, it is possible to fully house break him, even easier if you already have cats. just let him run around and find a place it likes to chill/poop/pee. then place a litterbox there with timothy hay. my rabbit used to run around the house.. just be sure to hide most wires he can reach and dont leave any paper lying around.

If you are releasing a caged bunny into the wild, you might as well just feed him to a bird or snake directly, since that is the effect you'll have. That bunny won't have a clue how to survive in the wild. It would be lucky to last the first night.

You could set it free at LB City College, that's what others have done.
Bunnies at LBCC The one thing I think would be cruel is to think it's going to be ok to let it loose in the park. Matters what park, but it probably won't survive due to predators.

Plus some bunnies are hard to get rid of once they find a home they like. So be careful where they are set free, they may cause havoc.

Why don't you just bring it to an animal shelter. I'm sure someone would like to adopt one. I set a white rat free once as a kid in ktown and two days later saw it dead a block away. Not smart at all... but I couldn't shake it out of my head for a bit... you'll be more at ease too.

that suggestion of letting it home free sounds good actually.
"chill/poop/pee" = hilarious
but makes perfect sence.
i do already have 2 cats though.
and that guy joe is having alot of fun with this whole bunny thing. damn.

Surrender it to a rabbit rescue. Like others have said, releasing it is irresponsible and it'll die, or at least suffer horribly until its time is up. Rabbits make excellent housepets, and they can be perfectly happy with their cages if it's roomy and comfortable and they get fed well. Sorry to go on a rant, but they're the third most abandoned animal after cats and dogs at the shelter.. they just get less press because people don't understand them or find them as appealing as cats/dogs.. but seriously, if you don't want the rabbit anymore, try to at least find a new home for it.

my work in seal beach has bunnies everywhere.... release in the rossmoor town center haha it will have like 500 friends

+1 have patience and try to find someone who would care for the bunny and give it a good home. Put up a craigslist ad or perhaps hit up a pet store.

bunnies are great, but they do need outdoor space to run around and dig. i used to take mine for runs. if you dont have enough space or time to take care of it, dont set it free. it will either starve to death or get eaten. if you drop it off at a shelter, at least it will die humanely.
or you can just keep loving it. just make sure you dont have any exposed wires in your room. bunnies love to eat phone cords.
