Need more details. What does 'laptop dead' mean? Is it a software or hardware issue? OS?
About the adapter, how are you planning to use it? Were you going to use a secondary slot to piggyback the laptop HD to an existing PC?

That adapter will work fine if:
a- the drive itself is still working normally.
b- you have a desktop PC into which you can plug it, boot up, and look through the drive.
If you think the drive is -physically- bad (making whining/grinding/etc noises or not spinning up at all), and you *really really* need the data, don't mess around - find a data recovery place and spend the money.
Is it a PC or a Mac computer?

initally i though it was a motherboard problem because the computer wouldn't turn on at all, now it boots up but says hard disk error.
Do you think I can still access it through those cords?
and are there cords like those that exists for laptop 2 laptop connection?

Sounds like fail to me
I've had multiple laptop hard drives die.
Does it make a repetitive / rhythmic clicking noise when its trying to start up? If so, I bet your HD is done for and the rest of your laptop is probably fine.

aksendz,
Take the hard drive (HD) you have in your laptop and put it in a known good working laptop. Then you'll know if the problem is the HD or the laptop. If it's the HD, buying the piece you are looking at isn't going to help you.
If you think it's the HD, and it's not booting up, then go into the BIOS of the laptop and see if the HD is being recognized. If it is and the HD is not booting up the borrowed laptop, you have a chance to get your crap off of the HD.

Either:
A) Ask Eddieboy to fix it for you or
B) Find laptopridazz.com. This isn't laptopridazz.
