My first real accident!!

I was riding home at about 10:15 tonight, traveling around 20mph in the shoulder/bike lane. I hit a baseball-sized chunk of cement on the road and that made my wheel go perpendicular to my direction of travel. I ended up flipping over my bike so far and so fast, I landed on the U-Lock I had in my back pocket. One second I'm riding, and then the next I'm flipping then sliding, upside-down, on my back.
Fortunately, all I got were tiny scrapes on my ankle and hand, some rash on my elbow and one very sore ass cheek. Bike lights, bike, bag and cranium all remain unscathed! Very lucky considering I was going pretty quick. Must have been all that positive energy I've been getting from you all.
I know these photos are pretty weak-sauce, but I'm proud of them!

Hooray for crashes! Glad you're not busted!
I've never flipped my handlebars, but my sister has. She came really close to landing on her feet again. Which would be surreal. Riding bike, hurtling over bike, standing in front of bike. In a nanosecond.
Oh hay, can we call you Mr. Hurtler now? OK cool thanks.

Spook! Be careful...or don't, like Richie said--run over all the big things you can!
Really, though, I am glad you are alright, but sorry you were frighted.

Funny thing is I read this post earlier today and went out and had my first real accident too! Went into a right turn kinda fast and realized the road was wet and the bike laid down. Slid about 10 ft on my ass and jumped up and got out of the road, there was blood and road burn but I came out of it alright. Gave the folks waiting at the intersection a good show.
