so i'm sorry to say that both my bikes were stolen today. they jumped huge ass fence of my apartment complex and stole both my road bike and fixie. i'm totally bikeless. it sucks. what makes it worse is that you wouldn't even know that the bikes were there if didn't live there. makes you think. anyways just do whatever i can to try and get them back.

this was the road bike, a 2007 roubaix. stock for the most part save for some white handlebar tape. had speedplay clips on it

this was my fixie. it had all nitto components including a sugino crank. the chainring was bent, but it still worked. also had brooks bar tape and saddle. if you see any of these bikes please let me know asap. Steve

That really sucks and it sounds like they knew the place... if they knew were to find the bikes. Did your neighbors see anything. I will keep my eye out on the bikes I hope you do find them.

At least they're both pretty unique looking bikes, hopefully they turn up on ebay or craigslist soon. Sorry about the luck.

My 80-ish Red Free Spirit has gone missing from my front yard. It's a ghetto single speed (the derailers removed). Chrome rims. Black bar-tape on chrome on steel dropdowns, and a old rack (Galvenized Steel). It was taken from my yard in Eagle Rock/ Glassel Park. It's a shitty bike, so I rarely locked it. It has spoke cards of Dingo, Mims & Josef on the front wheel. If you see it, lock it, call me, I'll deal with the thief or new owner.

i live in silver lake, but if you see these rolling around anywhere let me know. I know the iro is gone for the most part, since those are everywhere in la, but the specialized is super special to me. it was a graduation present from my father before we found out he had lue gehrig's (i know that sound lame, but its true). I'm gonna go to the bike stores, and pawn shops and let them know later today after work. fuuuuuuuck

@UPSTATE,
I had a stolen bike returned, almost intact, by doing a lot of detective work in the neighborhood albeit it took 8 months!!
It's probably someone local and as you said maybe from your apartment!! Talk to the folks who live there and put the word out near by, tell strangers!!!! Detective work, ask questions put up pictures!!!!!
The guy who nicked mine (or had it) got spooked and I got it back through 'a friend' and one accomplice is in jail.
Good luck, again put up large pictures in the neighborhood!!

you wouldn't happen to live in silverlake would you? My friend had both of her bikes stolen in the same sort of way 3 weeks ago. both rodies...one was taken apart and the parts were not with the bike they were on the side of the house and whomever took them got all the parts too..and where she was keeping them you only kew she had bikes if you had been there before

i go to school in silverlake, i'll keep my eyes out.
we should start attaching gps devices to our bikes. from what i know it would cost around 100 bucks to install and use it but its worth it if you got a nice bike.
