Anybody interested in helping to clean Echo Park, The LA River, or Silverlake on Saturday September 20th?
California Coastal Cleanup day is on 9/20/08 from 9am until noon.
Groups of people will be picking up trash all over California on many of its beaches, rivers, lakes, and creeks. The following shows a list of locations in the LA area (drop in sites) where you can show up and help that day.

I'll ride down to the LA river or Silverlake cause I live in that area.

I agree that after collecting a bunch of garbage it might end up in a similar place.
Luckily there are so many other ways of helping to slow down the damage we are causing to the earth and ourselves. I will go anywise because I think there is more to this event than just garbage hunting.
