SMC BIKE CLUB Fall 08

Lizzard and I are trying to activate the SMC Bike Club this year.
In order to start this club, we need at least five students currently enrolled in Santa Monica College, with a current A.S. Sticker and i.d number.
We would meet once a week during activity hour (day: TBA) and discuss bike related stuff, conduct and take part in rides to raise funds for different organizations and get to know other bicyclists in the SMC community.
Also, we might be able to fund an actual bike repair workshop in a space near the field (<--- in the works).

As long as you use all the money SMC gives you for a blowout party I'm for it. Suz is registered at SMC...

Sure, but we need a couple of people who are willing to go with the meetings. I was the only guy really trying to run it but i didn't have time to manage it in the end. Send me an email if you want to help start it in spring 09

SMC is my college for a year and a half.

have them charge the same early as parking

i know my way around AS and i know david chun and stuff, if you guys are willing i could take on the responsibility for running the boring stuff in the club, like getting it set up, having meetings, being represented in the councils...
That type of thing, what do you think?

I was the president of the bike club back in fall '07. The club kind of fell apart because I started racing, and taking more classes (tryin' to transfer). It was a little fun group for that term though. If you're still trying to get the club going again talk to Dr. Lawrence Driscoll in the english dept. He was our faculty adviser. You have to fill out a lot of paperwork and go to meetings, but then you get a budget from the school for activities. We never could get organized enough to spend any of it...

We have 4, we need 10?
We can do it if we get most of it done first and just look for members. We need to find a teacher, I forget who the last advisor was, but it shouldn't be hard to find a teacher at SMC who bikes.
We also all need to get the stickers.

i saw the owner...it was an awkward situation...bcs i was checking his bike while like looking at him...

jaz and nicki found out that we missed the deadline for the paperwork so we will only get like 60% of the money we normally would get.
so hopefully nicki is printing the paperwork and doing it?

SMC Associated Students / BikeRoWave collabo has been approved. I better be seeing a lot more of you youngbloods at the BikeRoWave this summer.

i recently started here at smc this fall and i remember there used to be a bike club in place...
