i should explain, i am for more women on bikes/ rides. i comment on that to point out if the ladies like it, in my eyes, the guys on the rides may* not be asses. the more i hear about the increase of women on rides indicates that the rides may* not be hostile/too sleazy of an environment. Although the presence of women on rides sometimes doesn't do much. if guys are want to act stupid they will act stupid.
Women seeing other women on bikes encourages more to come out and sometimes come again. Would i go if no other women were the ride? yes, i have done so, but that's because i don't particularly care and i am very adventurous. Although, i wouldn't go again if guys were acting a fool. i do notice that the ladies presence calm the guys down enough to the point that other women come to the rides. i have my limit and i am sticking to it but then that comes from going to many rides. Repeat riders are what i hope for and its what keeps rides interesting/going.
sometimes it's just nice to see a female faces often.

this ride has always been good so as long as the majority were made up of regulars.
the few times the ride failed, majority of the riders were knuckleheads. this ride always has been low key with only local levels of promotion and it has worked out.

One thing I would suggest to make it a tad bit more lady friendly is to make stops with bushes. My first MNR we stopped on that cool bridge over the 101/170 with the park on both sides an I hada pee like a mofo but it wouldnta been too safe. You boys can pee anywhere and that's cool, but us girls needa plan it out a lil more. Just a suggestion... Regardless the people on this ride are way chill and respectful. I've met some way cool peeps on this ride! ♥

I'm glad all worked out last night .... I made a game-time choice not to go out due to some issues I was having .... But next week is going to be different as we are going to do Monday Night Buffet.. I'm saying this now so people are not super shocked when it goes down and show up with money to eat .....Last MNR Buffet was awesome and I hope this one will be awesome ....

And I wanted to extend an invite to the bar where I'm going to be at playing bar trivia with my best friend who just came down from SF. You might know her. Her name's Sofia. Haven't gotten the full details but the place is on Ventura blvd, near Laurel Canyon I believe, so it's relatively close and ventura eventually turns into Cahuenga which could be an option if you'd like to stay out past 11:45.

i'm all for growth and numbers, but as of recently the amount of growth has been unsustainable. the leadership of this ride has gone from leading a ride to crowd control. in an attempt to recover any lost 'essence' to rehab, while ojsnapson is in Vaca for 2 weeks, the ride will be leaderless and carried out in old fashion by people who have been to a rehab before. this is not an attempt to exclude anyone, but i'm just bottlenecking it for those that really do want to ride rehab.

Last night was the biggest rehab I have ever seen easily 80+.... but ... with the growth .. problems ... My roomate left his phone charging on a wall... and well ... someone took it.. Leaving anything unattended is bad news on a ride or not .... This is the first time anything has happened like this on this ride .. .. I don't want to sound like a dick but I think your missing a point about these MNR spoke cards.
So far, MNR Spoke Cards are costing you nothing to make. You print them at work. Which is fine. I'd do the same thing if I had the opportunity to do so.
In addition to that, it is so easy for you to make them at home. A lamination machine, a board cutter, and lamination sheets that were all purchased by yours truly, are there for both of us to use.
However, just grabbing a "sick" image off the Internet and just slapping MNR on it and making 80+ spoke cards under my expense, on a weekly basis, with no thought put in on the spoke card it self, just seems unjust for me.
Maybe it's just me, but I take time and effort, and attention to detail, when making spoke cards.
Slapping MNR on a image on an already cool design off the internet is taking the easy approach thus loosing any creative mystique about that spoke card.
Look at Taco Tuesday and XL's approach on making spoke cards. All his spoke cards are all original and have a artful feel and sometimes meaningful design that he created pertaining to that day and route. Same thing with RWNN.
I'm not saying that any of these spoke cards you made are ugly or stupid. In fact there awesome. And I don't see my Thundercat spoke card from last night on my wall.
But my point is take time and a little effort in making original spoke cards that actually have a point and design, rather then taking an easier approach and wasting lamination sheets, on images found on the internet with Monday Night Rehab written on it.
If you need help, I can teach you Photoshop and even give you Photoshop for you to play around with.

Im sorry I never learned how to use photoshop like everyone else and Im slowly learning more and more as the weeks go by ... I understand what you are saying ...I'm just not understanding why you couldn't tell me this to my face? I tried to do the best with what was available to me ... But all the cards I have done have all been really random like the ride but something that people will think back to and wow thats crazy .... As I slowly teach myself to use photo-shop they will get better .. I PROMISE YOU THAT.... As the ride gets bigger I'm starting to pay close attention and think back to both of the rides you mentioned and use some ideas to make the ride better .... as they are both big in turnout,
extremely successful and I respect both of the leaders. I hope that one day this ride will eventually even be mentioned in the same sentence as either one... As for the size of the ride ... I meet tons and tons of new people all the time as the make MNR a start to a long MR career....

My suggestion, you don't have to rush and make spoke cards every single week.
Spoke cards don't make a ride. The ride itself does. We all know MNR is a 'Must Go-To' ride now, and even considered the 'Taco Tuesday' of the Valley. No need to put out Spoke Cards every week for people to keep coming back.
Your also forgetting that your busting out 80+ a week with lamination sheets that I bought. Your obviously going to have to buy more now.
I just want you to consider that making spoke cards, with what you have available, and with images basically grabbed off the internet, just for the sake of making spoke cards every week, can be a costly burden to me and yourself.
Make them special. Make Spoke Cards count. It's not about Photoshop skills.
I have offered you money numerous times... but wait .. you turn me down ...I can afford to buy my own things...I would rather you tell me to my face like a man and show me respect like a friend would ... I can handle whatever people have to say ....but you would rather blast me on the Internet bragging about what you have paid for ....

Im lost..? I understand what your trying to say but .. 6:30 thats way to early.. If we start that early sooo many people will miss out on the ride.. My own roommate (who wants to go) can't . I told people about it last Monday and everyone was really excited to be able to ride .... . I think the normal start time and normal meet spot and a normal ride will be fine for me ... Anyone who want to come out AUGUST 2nd Monday a celebrate my birthday with me can .. no age limit and no store stops .... show up with what you want to drink/eat/smoke ... because I have solid spot that I want go to ....

Awesome dash to the finish line. That was like... a mile's worth of hard pumping going on. My legs felt soooo good riding at peak efficiency. I love how the entire ride we keep a steady 10-13 mph pace and then at the end.... we just let it all go. It gives everyone their fix (no pun intended) and is what drives me (again no pun intended) to keep coming out every monday.

Because I was on the ride about 2 weeks ago going to balboa park.I seen tagging I seen drama about a stolen phone and about a stolen bike.I ride TNS every tuesday we as a group do not allow tagging,stealing on our ride and we have no problem confronting people when they do this.I don't know the ride leader but I would have backed him maybe its a fun ride just not my kind of ride.

I did a few MNR rides already and I'll be completely unbiased in saying it has seen its bad groups..but they are gone. Everyone riding..especially last night were chill as hell!!! The main problem with posting it .. I cant see what 100 people are doing all at once and most of the hardcore MNR people are in the front ... The reason Im thinking of posting it... is I caught some kid tagging .. ripped on em for doing it ... then he not only came back (after asking what authority I have) over and apologized.. he introduced himself to me and a entire group of people he didn't know ... we then talked for 15 minutes and he said he wanted to come out again and he understood the rules .... I have a question; I noticed you don't post this ride, but you also don't send invites for it on Facebook, do you just want close personal friends to come? I noticed last week that not only were there fewer "trouble makers" but that lots of other nice people including female riders, older riders and couples (tandem bike) did not show up. :(
My impression from your comments is that you not only don't want "trouble making kids" , but that you also prefer if only your close friends come to the ride. Maybe I'm wrong, but that is the sense that I had.
Maybe you can start posting it again here if only to let people know they are welcome, and since school is back in session you may not have to worry about kids who tag and steal being on the ride.

Part of the reason it has gotten faster is because when I made the choice to pull the plug on posting it on MR it slowly became the same group and we all got really comfortable with each other ... So much so that we just got use to the same 40 heads and everyone slowly became quicker and lost what MNR is all about .... So after last Monday ... Starting this Monday (tonight) ... back to keeping it slow, not dropping people and really enjoying the valley .. dont worry we will still have the little surprise at the end .. race ..cough ..cough ...
