My steed has to be put down

I'm sad to say, but my stead will not live to see another day on the mean streets of LA. :-(:::....
A terminal crack has been found in the frame, sadly it's fatal. :-(:::.....
Specialized has sent it's condolences and has offered to replace her. It won't be the same, but hopefully the new frame can carry on it's proud tradition of it's former sibling.
Good bye old girl, you'll be missed.

Damn, the father of all the skinny-tired mtb's has finally given up the ghost.
It's a damned shame that they probably won't have the yellow-color either.

If there's a heaven for MTBs, I'm sure she'll be looking down on me and watching over me.

Oh and the seat tube part was cracking around a weld.

How long did you ride it for? How did you notice the crack?

that's a shame, man. if you keep all/part of the frame, we should do a funeral ride. we could do a little burial, say a prayer...

Surgery went well today. :-(
Rigamortis was already set in this morning before surgery. Her suspension won't budge.
Old Yeller is now in that great big MTB's heaven in the sky. I'm waiting for a call to have her lifeless body brought in to the shop where I bought her. The shop said by the end of the week I'll be getting a call from them with a new frame. They said I can't keep the frame. I'll plead with them one more time, but I think it'll be fruitless. :-(
Thanks for all your kind thoughts. They mean alot to me. Even (still virgin) Spiraldongs heartfelt sentiments.
Sorry if I'm not my usual chipper self today, I'm sure you'll understand. <3

i see test strips or lancets in the corner!
the thing that sucks about getting rid of broken frames under warranty is that you lose the bikes character and you have to start all over again with a new one.
whos going to start the "cover user1s new bike in stickers" fund?

Don't worry Al, we'll get you stickered up in no time. Maybe we can do something custom, yes?

Yeah the test strips or lancets are for ebaying.
I'm thinking about charging them for the stickers! I like to try to keep it local stickers only. Obviously a mix of local and national is what wins out. Let's see what they give me. I might just ebay the sucker and buy a used frame. It just matters what I get.
