Im sure I don't have to remind you all to register to vote and take some actual steps to make a difference .We need all the votes we can get and if we all sit around and complain but don't get out and vote we have nothing to do but blame our own hipocracy and ignorance. This is a large network!!!!!!!! encourage your friends and family to vote. Don't say it doesn't matter or oops I forgot. This is the time and with more and more effort and concern we can make the change that we so often complain is needed or has been squashed by the monopolies of power from corporate interests and corrupt governemtn officials. Make it happen NOW VOTE and register if you never have or need to renew.
I'm registered, and I haven't received my sample ballot yet... have they shipped them yet? I have no clue what's on the ballot, other-than the obvious presidential thing...
there is only one thing that will drive me to vote for a president this year, yes there are times I leave that one blank... because they're always BOTH asshole... but it's the fact that potentially TWO seats on the Supreme Court may open up during then next four years, and who gets to appoint someone for those empty seats? The President. SO, if you care, and I normally don't, your choice for president will have a BIG effect on laws to be written, destroyed and interpreted for a LONG LONG time, and that is basically because of those TWO seats out of 9(?).. get it? It's currently NEO_CONSERVATIVE heavy, and they're already talking about overthrowing some basic rights, namely reproductive and privacy. So yeah, it's important.
I still may write in JOE BORFO for President, and SEXY for VP.
also- PLZ PLZ PLZ do not wear anything repping your choice of candidate (whoever it may be) to the polls. THEY WILL TURN YOU AWAY and if you want to vote you'll have to go and change.
every vote counts.
@ DakSo if we win, will you say the prey for us in Oval Office?
@Mr. You must vote
Let say I don't vote for the Borfo/Sexy ticket.
I vote for McKinney-Clemente or Nader-Gonzales ticket. Will you chastise me for throwing the election to McCain?
What I'm saying is voting is a personal choice. Don't tell anybody how to vote, or to vote if they don't want to. People have many valid reasons to feel they don't want to vote. RESPECT THEIR CHOICE. To Choose or not to choose. You want to vote go ahead. You want to vote against your own interest, go ahead. I want chastise you. I may or may not feel pity on you when they come and eat you, but I won't chastise you for your vote
Just think, the next President may have to fill two Supreme Court Seats. Lets say McCain wins by cheating and then drops dead. Do you want that Psycho Lunatic filling those seats. I thought Bush was dumb, she makes him look like a Harvard Professor. This is fucking scary! VOTE!!
Please, please, please advise everyone you know that they absolutely can NOT go to the polls wearing any Obama (or whoever you are voting for) shirts, pins or hats, it is against the law and will be grounds to have the polling officials turn you away. This is considered campaigning and no one can campaign within a certain amount of feet of the polls. They are banking on us being excited and not being aware of this long standing law that you can bet will be enforced this year! They are banking that if you are turned away you will not go home and change your clothes. Please just don't wear Obama gear of any kind to the polls! Please share this information, oh and for those of you who were already aware this was not meant to insult your intelligence.

imho, i can put my vote to its best use by casting it for the leading third party.
for presidential elections, california is a pretty reliable state for the democratic party. whether i vote democratic or republican, i don't think it would make a difference.
it's better to use my vote to help a third political party reach the required threshold of the national popular vote so they can get matching federal funds. currently, it's basically impossible for a third party candidate to get the same level of exposure as democrats & republicans due to much much smaller levels of campaign funds.
eventually, it will pay off by giving us more (serious) choices in the future.
I'm against voting. But what was said in this post got me really excited. First, what if McCain wins, and he dies? Then we have a president who was a part of Alaska's Independence Party, aka a group founded to succede from the US. We have someone, head of the US, who was a part of a group, pushing to stop being the US?
I also find it hillarious that people get so amped up for voting, when the whole thing is some sort of weird reality show "Choose your next dictator!".

Everyone interested in voting shouldn't read those links, and quick a few make nice points, enough to perhaps sway you from voting.
Also those who aren't interested in voting, but need reasons behind such emotions, as those who vote tend to be very angry at those who don't vote....even though not voting is a choice, just the same as their choice for a specific candidate, this site may pique your interest.
Ok I still dont get the logic behind that yes its a choice and its also a choice to feel no responsibility to make things different and let millions of Americans face unemployment, see the mentally ill roaming the streets and without services, see our environment be destroyed by ignorance and neglect, see many Americans without proper medical care and no way to pay for care. I love todays generation especially in LA. Entitled and deserving and living in individual walls of self rightous BS. Oh everything is fine I can just relax and think of my next needs. Take and never give. So you dont vote or care. You were given rights for a reason to take choice and make it work. Vote or no vote its your choice your right. keep passing the buck and let everyone else pick up the slack. Im not sure what your saying about the Alaskan either but maybe too much FOX news great resource for learning the truth ---------not
ijunes -->love ur idea. nothing better than stirring up ACTION!
Personally, I DO NOT CARE WHO YOU VOTE FOR AS LONG AS YOU DO IT! Even write in Borfo, if you want. If you don't vote, you have NO RIGHT to even open your mouth and complain. Yes, the system needs some changes. No, you're not gonna fix it bitching and moaning and buying into the idea that not voting has any impact. Don't be stupid. Get up and get your ass to the polls!

Even if you feel voting for the president is a waste of time, there will be many other issues on your ballot. Same sex marriage and (2) on alternative energy for example. Plus a number of bond issues.
These things are worth you time and interest, even if you are jadedon the pres/vp thing.
So please get off your ass and read up on this stuff and vote on it.
Yes Sexy I know it is a choice not to vote on this stuff too. I strongly disagree with that position....but, you remain awesome either way.
"The most effective way to keep slaves productive and/or prevent revolution is to make them believe they have rights and choices. "
No, the best way to keep slaves productive and prevent revolution is to give them ACTUAL rights and choices, and then let the slaves delude themselves into thinking they don't have either.
There isn't an external force made that can compete with self imposed delusion.
See, e.g., every religion ever.
No one is more helpless than those who accept helplessness.
(That said, if you really think the difference between Obama's and McCain's Supreme Court selections won't have any effect on women's rights, you probably shouldn't be voting.)
roe v wade will never be overturned.. both sides of the fake 2 party system benefit from it. it diverts attention from real issues that if were ever brought into the light would cause riots in the streets.
this system has been transformed so that only criminals can hold higher office. if you feel comfortable supporting criminals, go for it..
if there was a candidate that ran on the "i'm going to build a prison and toss every motherfucker responsible for the destruction of a free country in it and throw away the key" platform i'd be the first in line to vote.
I agree that they are all criminals, but, some are petty thieves while others have robbed this country blind. We have all stolen something at one time or another, but most of us would not steal on a large scale like rob a bank. There is a big difference.
I had paragraph after paragraph ready to be sent in, and my browser crashed. *facepalm*
Basically, it's everyone's right as a human to voice their opinions. By not voting does not detract from that. In today's system we are force fed our choices, without actually being able to make a choice towards what we want. And by we, I obviously mean me, as I do not support what most people support, at least that has been my understanding of responses to how I feel about how life should be.
until Kropotkin rises from the grave, I don't think I'll support anyone's rise to power. I mean first, I think he would change things for the better, and if not, fuck him then. Plus come on, zombie ruler? That'd be awesome.
vote or die mothafucka, VOTE OR DIE! if you do not vote, i will fucking kill yo ass!
hello? i'd rather vote FOR something, rather than just... voting.
"vote! remember to vote!"
"i've been paying attention and i think either candidate will not fix what is really wrong in this country."
"if you don't vote its YOU who should feel bad policies first!"
wait a minute, WHAT?
i'm probably going to vote. and i'm going to vote for Nader because it doesn't matter who Californians vote for, its gonna go to Obama. But to say that people who do NOT actively choose to fuck themselves over by voting someone in should be penalized for the failures of the person chosen by people who DID vote. . .
that doesn't seem a little... i don't know... retarded to you?
Also remember that voting is more than picking one of two talking heads for president, but that are a number of local issues that are important too and more likely to effect you directly.
VOTE.
yes vote every day with your deeds and dollars
but go to the poll on Nov.4 and VOTE
People with privileges find it much easier to do the lazy thing and say it just doesn't matter, cause its all corrupt, evil, and it just doesn't matter.
There are some orphans and widows in Iraq who just might disagree with you.
But even even you can't bring yourself to hold your nose and pull the lever for a mainstream candidate at least be counted by voting for a third party ... or by voting for other shit and leaving blanks where you don't have a good choice.
Politicians aside.
Do the right thing and go out and vote even if it is only to oppose prop 8.
Right wing loonies some how think the world is going to crumble if we don't abolish the rights of gays to get and stay married.
If you sit at home and let the bigots steal our marriage rights.
You are as good as a Klansman to me and next time i see you i'm gonna wipe my ass on your white sheet.
I love (A) as much as the next person ... but dont be a douche ... go out and vote.
