Whaddup ridazz! Greetings from San Luis Obispo.
We'll be Rollin into Santa Monica Friday afternoon and would looooove a place to crash that night, preferably west of the 405 and hopefully someplace we can have a low-key kickback with a couple Rida friends you already know (unless we all go riding that night, of course). I'm listening to The Rev's radio show now. Lance just called in.
After riding 2,500 miles on his first day back in LA, a female driver starts hassling him for a few block then finally rear-ends him at a stop light and pins his back wheel under her car. THEN her boyfriend jumps out of the car and punches him in the face, leaving him with a broken nose!
Fortunately, he said he got the plates, and he sounds to be in good spirits, but still...
I'm so outraged to hear this. This is precisely what's wrong with LA and it's selfish drivers.
Lance, congrats on your journey. I'm so sorry that this happened to you and I hope you're able to bring these fuckers to justice.

What's particularly irksome is that Lance said he was specifically being non-confrontational and just waived at the driver when she hassled him.
Wow, Will, Racquel and Lance all got hit by cars within one week. I guess we can drop the letters PD and DOT and just cut it down to "LA hates cyclists."

There is some over the top road rage/insanity/stupidity going on this week. I haven't been honked and hated on this much in years. Should be interesting tonite riding my bike in a dress and sexy purple wig.

Nice to hear you're back in Camelot, Lance in one piece. Hope your travels took you to your destination and past it. I know the allure of home must have been calling but what you did was a brave thing. Now if only more of us could grow the cojones to pull off something similar, the world would be a more awesome place.
