corking intersections

Midnight Ridazz has grown to well over a thousand cyclists. Wtih this many bikes, corking has become a necessity to keep the group together. However, I don't think we should hold up intersections for the entire mass to pass through, especially with large rides.
I suggest corking intersections for just one light cycle. The number of Ridazz who can pass through on an entire light cycle will be enough to achieve the perceived safety in numbers. This would break up the thousands of Ridazz into more managable groups. Each group would still follow safety guidelines like only riding in the right lane and stopping for subsequent red lights. Breaking up the ride in groups would also allow motorists to make right turns between the groups.
Any thoughts on how to make rides more managable while not aggravating motorists? How about having designated people who alternate corking intersections?

I thought that was how it was supposed to go in the first place? I guess some people know how to cork and others don't.

no chynnaaaa that's not how it's always been.
The point of keeping the group together was to not have cars and bikers mixed together... It can be very dangerous.
At least this way since the rides are at the point of several "leaders", due to size, more groups will be lead the correct route and to the right stops.

I mean, I thought that the light cycle was supposed to have brought the mass of the ride so you were supposed to be done corking. Know what I mean?

We should use walkie talkies for the broken up groups. Just to keep in contact and what not. The leaders should have em.

the problem is that peesp don't know where to go if they are broken up.
in that case, corkers should be ride leaders who know the route or some shit

I'm steadily equipping the Westside with a fairshare, let's all remember to keep these walkie-talkies fully charged/fresh batteried and perform soundchecks to make sure frequencies are compatible with different bands.
Yeah, cellphones and texting work fine, but hitting a fat, TRANSMIT button is as quick as Wild Billl drawing a '58 Remington .44 LC!!!

This is why routes should be posted beforehand.
That way,you can fix a flat / stop at a red / whatever without having to worry about losing the group.
