I am hosting a ride next week for those of us without jobs. I loved the idea of the unemployment ride a few weeks ago but felt that we really needed to do this in the middle of a week day, so here's your chance!
Come on down to the Long Beach Area and enjoy an afternoon without work!
Or call in sick!

High Noon meet-up
Roll out at 12:30
Start and end point, T.J. Maxx parking lot
Wardlow & Norwalk Blvd.
Los Alamitos CA
T.J. Max has a nice selection of job interview clothes at reduced prices.
32 miles out/back along the Pacific Coast
Stop for brown bag lunch picnic at about 24 miles
For those collecting unemployment, there will be places to buy your lunch
People with jobs are welcome at this ride

Nuh huh. LB rocks. Lots to offer. Belmont shores for Kiteboarding Cabrillo Beach too (although its technically Pedro). Pine Street. Shoreline Drive for the Grand Prix, Aquarium of the Pacific, etc.
What does Oh, Hi! have besides the home of the only resident GG Allin fan?

Hey! I did say 'Technically'. I could have used the word 'like', ya know.
And it is 'like' a stones throw away ;-)
It wasn't as if i said that the Minutemen were from there or anything.
I could add that SST founder Greg Ginn lives in the totally awesome town of LB too.

Hey Leslie, if I come down on the Blue Line what's the best stop to get off at and route to take?

Crossing Long Beach, which is what you will have to do, is tricky. most cross town streets have car lanes right up to the curb. The safest way is to get off at Del Amo, take Del Amo east 8 miles to Norwalk, then go south on Norwalk to Wardlow. That will be about 10 miles from the Blue Line station.
Another way would be to take the 191 bus (Long Beach Transit) from the Del Amo Metro station to Del Amo & Norwalk, and then ride the final 2 miles down Norwalk to the meet-up.

Hey Rollers,
If you're taking the Blue Line to LB, you can meet me at the Willow Station and ride at 9am. The LA River trail is a mile away. Let me know if you want to do this. I'll be meeting Leslie at 9:50.

It's OK. Good to know your thoughts were with me.
I knew a mid-day, mid-week ride, in the boonies, was a long shot.
This is why the first unemployment ride was in the city on a saturday night!
Now the spoke cards are collectors items! I'll post them on ebay for $100 ea.
