= FUCK THAT SHIT.
a week early my ass.
And to the asshole that was complaining about the ride,
you dont like hills?
go back to santa monica you fucking chump.
reply
@ eddie
oh hahaha
no not talking about that girl with the candy cane schtick.
candy cane lane as in that street thats supposed to have like uber ridiculous xmas lights on every single house.
it ended up being like 2 houses on the corner.
apparently we were a week early.
and as far as the harsh words,
its a fucking bike ride. don't come on the ride to complain.
if you drove out from SMA for a ride and you didnt like some measly hill, well then tough shit. dont passive aggressively complain about it because you just look like an ass.
plus,
THAT WASNT EVEN A HILL!
it was like a ground nipple.

i myself been intimidated of hills. monday night after riding with the sixpack monday bunch. 2 fellow horsemen (HMW) and i rode home from the holiday lights festival at griffith and we took los feliz uphill from riverside. i thought i was going to bonk but when push came to shove i went off saddle and pushed that 44/16 gear ratio up that long trying hill to the summit at commonwealth. i felt triumphant. i beet my friend Jared who has a road 5 speed conversion and he downshifted when the pushing got tough. yeah. im gonna keep riding that fucking hill and the rolling hills on the flattest roads in griffith on my fixie. i did the rolling hills on crystal/springs dr to los feliz n riverside (to the fountain) with no hands on the handlebars as i was slowly nursing and sipping a tall tecate.

by intimidated by hills i meant on my new fixie and new fixie experiences. i can conquer most hills on a road bike no problem. i miss my road horse :(

What ride was this?
Some small, get-together?
Or, something big that didn't quite make it out at press-time?

Yeaahh! I glad to see the SFV-CM tradition of looking at houses decorated with lights on the December ride was followed.
Unfortunately the 1st Tuesday did fall a little early this years.
I hope that wasn't the famous Hatehills himself you are talking about (He is a really good chap). Remember, this is all about building bicycle culture (even if it is built for many us already). Everybody has different skill levels. May I suggest, next time to congratulate the 'westside visitor' on not only making the trek over the hill to the valley for the ride. Congratulate the rider on going outside of his comfort zone and pushing his abilities on these challenges he referred to as hills.
So Sorry I can't make it to these rides these day.
I certainly do miss the rides and all of the people that come out for it. I especially miss you Mike.

FUCK YOU RBI
THE only option is to nuke the fuck out of the basin to even it all out as a giant crater valley that we will never need to leave. No more hills, no more people, no more problems.
franz12.3.08 - 3:28 pm
reply
but then a crater would create a natural velodrome; all flat and only left hand turns. and you wouldnt want that.
ruinedbyidiots12.3.08 - 3:30 pm

Than it would give all of the fixie jocks with $3k track bikes who are too cool for spandex something to do with their overpriced left turn only machines.

those "hills" only looked big from afar. once you actually got to the foot of it, it was like nothing....
you have to admit that hills are a bitch sometimes though

As said before, hills are there to give you a bomb-ass ride down the other side.
Not to mention they really help me out with lung-expansion when I've got my noise-box on the back.

bring your noise box to the mosey 2night!!! benstridah

@night child
i agree, hills definitely are a bitch sometimes.
and keep in mind, i am one lazy ass person.
but the thing that bothered me was the guy's whining.
whining plus complaining about the route.
sometimes, its just best to keep ur mouth shut and just ride.
the only thing whining is gonna do is bum others out.
plus, some girl on a ghetto bomber bike was climbing up it no problem.
if a newb with a heavy ass mtb can climb up a hill, then someone with a roadbike really has no right to complain.
