I really hope you guyz are all paying attention to this!!!
Ok, so I don't typically come on here and start threads. This must be posted.
It may seem like a track bike wouldn't stand a chance against a super-charged V8 engine in a speed contest, but don't mention that to Olympic gold medalist Chris Hoy.
Pedaling his Dolan track bike, Hoy will take on race car champ Lewis Hamilton, who'll be at the wheel of a Mercedes SLR, next month at London's Wembley Stadium.
The man vs. machine match-up is expected to draw 80,000 curious spectators. Click on the link for the full story.
Race Of Champions is pretty cool. Its two courses in one lot. Both racers will race against each other but on different courses. Watch the vid to get a better idea of it.
Hamilton will probably be doing a really tight technical course in the center of the arena while Hoy sprints on the outside.
I would expect a lot of technical turns that will balance the speed advantage of the automobile. Should be a fun watch, is this going to be broadcast on the internets?
honestly i have never heard of him [i dont really keep track of the cycle world much unless its BMX or rock jumping] but I just watched some vids of him and he is insane! The speed he picks up in such a short amount of time is ridiculous and that vid of him doing a 6min track stand on the velo and then blasting off into a sprint...nuts.
as far as broadcasting goes I haven't heard of any US based broadcasting but SPEEDtv will most likely do a recap of the event. No worries though give it a few days after the event and you will see these vids pop up on youtube.
Even my sorry ass could beat an F1 race car. Put us both on wilshire blvd at 5 pm any week day and I'll beat any car in a race through LA traffic. Next.
He wins the F1 Championship by one point on the last race of the season. OK OK I could see if he would have won the last race, but the fucker comes in 5th and beats my team by one fuckin point!! Am I bitter that Massa won more races this season yet came in second? YA BET!! Look, Ferrari took the constructors' title by 21 points! Ferrari was the team this year! Ferrari placed drivers in the second and third slot after the season was over. It was Ferrari's season! And this fuckin Hamilton had to ruin it!
FUCK YOU HAMILTON!!!
I hope you get beat by this bicycle rider. Shouldn't be that hard since you don't really win races!
You should be mad at Glock for picking the wrong tires near the end of the Brazilian last and final race, which allowed Hamilton to pass him on the final lap securing the win.
SCREW YOU TIMO GLOCK!!! he is an awesome driver though.
Yeah that hurt too. Massa had a bad start in the season but came on after the 3rd race and was pretty consistent. Hamilton took on the role of nat that would never go away. Always around the winners.
Oh yes, every red blooded Italian has to pull for Ferrari, or they would be ostracized. You'd have a easier time assimulating in Italy if you told them you were a fluffa from the valley!
Always was a BIG fan of F1, World Rally, and bicycle racing. Soccer never really did it for me, it's ok though.
