FULL MOON RIDE

Who needs timepieces, watches, alarms and clocks,
when we all operate on cosmic tocks.
Let us look to the sky upon our earthian home,
to see when we shall ride upon this dome.
Nearly once a month she turns to full,
and when she does lets ride like the bull!

Well, the fifth (or sixth?) dark century is supposed to be in June. I stopped trying to make them coincide with full moons...it was hard to find them on Fridays and Saturdays, which are the best nights for Dark Century rides. So, maybe you'd like to ride on the one in June. Many people have made the Dark Century their first century.
But, I defer to the discussion of the ride you are planning. It caught my eye because of the premise.

Sounds rad.
It would be a great opportunity to ride some territory that's often too dark to ride safely (for lack of street lights, or jesus, or whatever the reason).
Or, in the not so distant future, we can all use this.

Riding on Valley St the other day I would have felt better riding with a Light Lane... haha. Someone stole my lights, again. Might be time to upgrade anyways.
It's a Moonday full of rides.

Looks like there is going to be rain on Monday. I am still down to ride, might make the route shorter though.

There's a 70% chance of rain till 1pm. There's a 10% chance of rain after that. I like those odds!
It's just going to be a chillyierey ride than usual. Bundle up boys and girls.

I'd rather not use gmap-pedometer.com, anybody know of something that is FLOSS? I'd like to install it on my website.

The maps seem to be better on http://openstreetmap.org for cycling, and you can upload traces, so I may use my freerunner to get traces and just do it this way.

The moon, when full, RISES an hour or so after sunset.
The beauty of the full moon is that it it out and overhead for most of the night.
It should be beautiful tonight.

Moonrise tonite - MAR 10 7:38 pm
There's plenty of places to see a romantic moon. It doesn't have to be just Griffith Park. Last month was a really awesome spot I never been to before. The hill was bare of houses and had brush all around. Could see the city and great ride to it too. Now if I could remember how to get there! :-/

Many years ago, before electricity, My pals and I used to do "moon runs". We'd do a trail run on the night before the full moon with only the moon light to illuminate the trail.
I would love to ride tonight, but I gotta go to an exclusive sneak preview reception of an exhibition of art honoring Nat King Cole. I have two works in the show.
The show will be part of art walk this Thursday, so come by Crewest Gallery and check it out. I'll be there Thursday as well.

I got there a little before 10 and you guys were gone. I read the freakin ride post wrong. Thought it said meet at 9:30.
My night was saved by another ride that was starting about the same time. So not all was lost. Man, only in LA can you plan on going to a ride, miss that ride, then catch a second ride happening later that night! That's happened to me twice now in less than a week!
THANK U RIDAZZ!!!!
