Bike theft on the rise

I know that many of you are out in the local West LA / West Hollywood streets all the time and I am asking all to please keep an eye out for a 2007 Dark Green KONA COILAIR 20" frame with 2.5" tyres. It was stolen from the bike lock up at Target on La Brea on "BLACK FRIDAY" 11/28/2008. I had no idea that cable locks could be cut so fast. I used two cable locks and was only gone for 10 minutes. Avoid parking your bike when there are suspicious looking people around with back packs on that mostlikely have the tools in to rip your bike off with.
It has been reported to the Sheriff department but some extra eyes out there will help. Please call the cops if you see it. I have also registered it with the national bike registry so the can get it back to me if they run the serial #. My email is electricjason@hotmail.com so please let me know if you see it for sale online or out on the streets.
Thank you,
Jason.

sorry you had to learn that lesson.
we'll keep an eye out for your ride.
Cable locks are good in some situations.
I mostly use mine to lock up my front wheel.
Or for a quick stop, I'll use the cable to lock to a tree and lock my bike to itself with the U-Lock.
Any lock can be defeated. I've been way more careful about how and where to lock my bike latley.
Shit has been getting jacked like crazy!
Ive been riding for 2.5 years and it seems like the bike theft stories have increased 300% in that time.

That video above is whack!
The police come by and tell him he can't be in the "active lane". This, while he's clearly jackin a bike! @ 4:27

I drove a court filing from a brentwood firm to COURT OF APPEALS on spring in DTLA and saw KYLE GLEASON (a well known veteran messenger in DTLA) with his bike upside down on the sidewalk missing his back wheel. it turns out these little shits have some big fucking balls and they keep stealing from the messengers after many of them have already been found with stolen merch and gotten their little fucking asses beat up. what the fuck? will they stop at nothing?
