We are looking for the ultimate black/speed/grind/doom metal guitarist to perform 1 minute of speed metal, every hour on the hour, beneath a remotely located replica of a gothic arch during Machine Project’s show at LACMA on November 15th. Pays $100 for the day. Must be able to play riffs along the lines of Cradle of Filth, Gorgoroth, Children of Bodom, Celtic Frost, Slayer, Napalm Death. Must be able to play beyond fast. Must be able to sound insane. Must have own guitar and amp.
If interested, please email us a sample at machine@machineproject.com. Video footage is preferred, but we’ll also take a picture and mp3. Auditions are on Saturday at Machine Project at the following times:
Saturday, November 8th
12pm - 2pm

On Broadway in downtown LA
i'm sure that you can find many a Latin kid with long thick hair
with a shirt that has that writing that you can't really read to do fill this position. Proudly they shall complete the mission with glee and have all of the metal head buddys come and bang heads to it.

This would be perfect. I played guitar in a death metal thrash band in a former life and toured europe for a couple months. I was so bad ass I used razor blades as guitarpicks..... but alas, I don't think my fingers are fast enough these days....

Machine Project @ LACMA
November 15, 2008
Noon til 10pm
We will be orchestrating ten hours of performances, workshops, and events which experiment with LACMA’s encyclopedic collections and expansive grounds. Featuring over 60 projects dispersed across the seven-building, twenty-acre campus, visitors are encouraged to explore the museum in new and unexpected ways.
Projects sited throughout the museum include a robotic Netsuke head, a glow-in-the-dark unicorn, a man in a suit made of pepper cans, an audio tour of ambient gallery sounds, and a painting reproduced in flowers. A bank of elevators will be inhabited by trios of musicians including a gamelan orchestra, mariachi band, and fife and drum core. Visitors can try to solve the interactive murder mystery with clues scattered across the museum grounds. The BP Grand Court will become a temporary Mission Control Center with electronics workshops, a video feedback installation of the day’s events, and an evening screening with performances and readings. There will also be craft workshops, mobile musical aliens, gallery massages, a handout of invisible performances, replicas made from LACMA’s trash, a lost nose, and much, much, more.
