I know what the inside of every building on that street looks like. Whoever's organizing this, I'd be down to meet up and suss out the best one.
All the attendees can claim ignorance to the legality of the venue if the cops do pop up. But the DJ (assuming he/she will have gear) might get stuck holding the bag?

I have friends from spOAKLAND who are planning an invasion of this one. (including sexy's cousin).
we WILL be having a sweet polaroid photo booth for bike prom photos!

Just made some phone calls and renting a real space even in my ghetto neighborhood in Highland Park is several hundred dollars. Being so many people and doing it so late doesn't help to make a deal either.
Under Spring Street bridge would be nice but we'd need FarmLab's permission. Anyone know anybody there?
Mariachi square has been always cool with us.
Olvera Square is romantic and security has been tolerant there in the past.
The County Administration building (temple and Bway) has a huge plaza but I dunno how long we would last.
NE corner of Vermont and Wilshire has this new plaza surrounded by that new ugly building that cries to be exploited before tenants move in.
Hollenbeck Park and Lincoln Park in East LA.
East side of 4th street bridge under the bridge has a quiet dead end street.

I noticed yesterday that there's a big new building of lofts just built on the west side of Beaudry, between 3rd and 1st. I rode by it yesterday and it looks like the entire ground floor is parking and there are no doors/gates on the entrances yet. I've not been by at night to check the security situation, but there are enough folks that live nearby that someone could easily scout it out.

From what I've been told, this is designated as a public space. That means it's open to the public, for public use. I'll talk to Dee since he was the last person that talked to someone there in regards to Under Spring. Or you can stop by there tomorrow at noon time to get some instructions on hand to branches combat technics with your garden.

You do need to ask for it if you are planning to use power and personnel.
I spoke to security gaurd and one staff ,they have instructions to allow anyone to hangout on the grounds at anytime.
They will not put up with liquor,beer (use sports bottles to bypass) and behave.They told me that they previously had issues with some riders trying to climb on building and walls so they got kicked out.
So if you wanna use the spot and have a DJ, most likely they will ask for some security.(paid by us ridazz)
Bottomline
if you wanna show up with BBD's system and party.Just show up.
If you want a DJ and power, hit them up.Speak to Olivia.Shes the most accessible.

After extensive tests, I've found the goat to not appreciate riding on my shoulders while on my bike. I'll have to pass on this, especially since he keeps trying to eat my hat.
If I were to "MacGuyver" a Speedo, would it be made out of an avacado, duct tape and a gum wrapper? I'll let you figure it out...

I'm just a standard 5'7" white guy who can house, boogaloo, and sometimes break....just the usual. And as for something cool to wear...umm...it's gonna be cold at night so the speedo is gonna be out but I might rock my "I'm a Pepper" Dr. Pepper t-shirt. Because obviously peppers are hot.

Hey Riss,
just wanted to take this out of the "work sucks" thread.
As I was saying there is an abandoned warehouse by the LA river bike path immediately south of the 2 FWY or two blocks south of Fletcher.
It's a giant warehouse.
Fence is down, doors are open. Easy to get in.
Of course that means others have already been there.
All the walls inside/out are covered with graffiti.
I saw four hobos in there. They seemed quite enegetic.
Two of them were stripping the pipes off for the scrap metal.
They were not aggressive or territorial.
There were paddles on the floor from the recent rain.
It's worth a look but it's definitely more edgy/urban than romantic.

A generator is about $50
Although it wouldn't be bad in my opinion to have a 2 or 3 longer stops at places we can dance and party. I have passed along some suggestions that would be nice to have as somewhat of a surprise.
Buy yeah ... if we don't have a venue it would be nice if we could just make the most, by hitting up different parts of the city.

If its at the location by the 2 and fletcher and we're meeting at the fountain at los feliz, its only about 2.5 miles there. If anyone is coming from the North Hollywood/Studio City area, I normally ride Riverside out and around Griffith if anyone is interested in it. I'll probably leave about 8:45
