or this stuff.
one pack of extra firm tofu
cut into cubes
saute a bell pepper, mushrooms, and some onion in chili oil
then after a few minutes add this stuff
mix it in and let it simmer
add the tofu and let it simmer some more and wait
for your rice to cook (1 cup rice + 1 cup vegetable broth)
serve with a salad on the side with some of this stuff
and enjoy

maybe the best tofu marinade ever
½ cup soy sauce
1 teasp. sesame oil
freshly ground black pepper
2 green onions, minced
1 teasp. toasted sesame seeds, grounded
optional: ½ teasp. mirin and ¼ teasp. dried Korean chili pepper flakes
cut up ur tofu into half inch thickness, let it marinate over night.
fry it.
or you can just fry plain tofu then use the marinade as a dipping sauce.

go buy a slab of tofu!
fry it and dip it in soy or whatever.
sprinkle salt and pepper.
just try it.
its cheap and tasty and healthy if u dont fry it.
you can do so much shit with it.

hey mike, whats a good asian market i can pick some stuff up at in the valley? id like to not have to go all the way to lil tokyo/chinatown, if possible.
ruinedbyidiots02.22.09 - 2:49 pm

There are some massive asian markets in the west valley. Its fucking epic.

ummm,
i only know of two korean markets in the valley.
there is greenland in van nuys and the galleria in northridge.
greenland is okay but has really poor selection.
galleria has a decent selection but is kind of overpriced.
also, you should check yelp.
i know there are at least 3 decent asian markets in burbank/glendale bc theres a decent korean and filipino population.

OMG!!! I have this item --->
I think I can make this thing. I suck at cooking, I couldn't cook to save my life, but I can read and follow directions.
I'll report back tomorrow since I don't have anything else.

Curry blocks? Please.
I use curry powder and coconut milk in my meaty-varieties.
Not to mention the powder has that special taste.

no! but two of its ingredients are apparently not vegetarian. (disodium guanylate and disodium inosinate)

Well, I never said the powdered form couldn't be applied to vegetarian varieties.

I will say though, for a pot of curried vegs, that does look pretty damned delightful.
Not to mention I should add some more vegs to the diet, I've been feeling a little, more sleepier than usual, or it could just be an Iratus Bug sipping the life-juice out of me.
I remember when I was driving for Swift, my weight hovered between 155-170, due to powdered milk and PB sandwiches utilizing wheat-bread.
This was mainly due to restaurants and such being closed, or not in favor when stopped for the night/day.
