White Van in Echo Park

Tonight coming out from Pizza Buono we witnessed our bikes being swapmed by 4 kids and a running white mini-van. Either because the cops had just rolled past or because we were approaching, everybody scatted into the van very quckily.
We had our front and back wheels + frames locked with 2 u-locks and a cable.
Total damage 1 frog light.
My helmet was not locked it had it wrapped around the bike frames.
It was laying on the ground when we walked up.
As the van started to drive away slowly, my fried said. "not this time" and the guy driving the car responded "shut up".
So keep an eye out for the creepy dude driving around a van full of kids on late at night looking to rack shit off of bikes.

You mean, stomped.
Seems like a classic case of "the pricks that never learn".
I say we hold 'em down and brand 'em like cattle.

we where at short stop & cha cha and saw these two riders riding by.. ten minutes later, we see them again with one of the riders missing their front rim? we went to see what happenend? they told us someone just stole his aerospoke rim he just bought! :/
the rider who had his rim just stolen said, " I just went to inside this place for a minute, then came out and saw that my front rim had been jacked!
that was an f-up thing.

funanu - if the thieves have any brains whatsoever, the bikes get trucked en masse to the the next city over, perhaps somewhere in the OC, santa barbara...or at least down to LB. Then they swap all the parts around and sell 'em.

There was no License plate just some new car dealer placard in the plate frame.
The mini van was pretty boxy. There was 4-6 kids. And it was being driven by an "adult".
They made a right on Alvarado then a left on Santa Ynez.
So resumabley they are somewhere in the area.
I din't get the make or model of the whte van but it had really boxy lines, not all tear shaped like a Toyota.
I thin the kids shoudl be left alone.
Somebody should beat the fuck out of teh guy who has the van, preferably with the kids watching.
It was pretty sureal how it all went down. They were making their get away just as we walked up. If we had shown up a minute earlier it may have been more of a confrontation.

I know it may seem pointless, but I hope you reported it.

It was pointless but I did call the rampart division.

This is the cloest looking van I could find, but I don;t think it was a ford. and the lines were a little bit cleaner and more angular.
I also think it may not have had black trim.

I knew someone was going to point at me ! fukkin'Borfo! I hope the van in question is not an Astro or even a Creepy White Astro. I hate to see people giving white vans a bad name.

Well no ... it was more of a mini van like the one I posted.
It was really angular. I remember it seeming odd that it had dealer plates as it looked like a style that was more popular 10 or 15 years ago.
Anybody else seen this gang in action lately?

the getaway van the thieves were driving that snagged my bike last week @ BRW looked like a beat up version of this. the license plate was either gone or folded up so you couldn't see it.

also, violence is the only solution to this problem.

Different gang, but equally distressing.
The kids in EP were rollin in a passenger van with windows.

Patrick,
That van you posted a picture of is called a station wagon. See, they even have a pic of it in wiki,
Ford Focus wagon. More
Ford Focus wagons. I'm not saying you didn't see a van, I'm just saying that's a Ford Focus Wagon.
It helps to know our cars if we need to make a description to an officer.

Don't forget. Not ALL creepy white Astro vans are evil. Some of them are the good guys. Mine for instance.
