my clothes and bag was covered in shit and algae and who knows what. everything smells like shit. clothes had to go through the wash twice to get rid of smell.
the bag, i hand washed but still smells awful.
anybody know if its safe to put a bag into the washing machine?
i dont wanna damage my bag or the washing machine.

I'd use the gentle cycle on cold at a coin-op laundromat, with an assload of detergent, then let it air dry.

You should be more specific on what kind of bag you have, but now I remember that you have a chrome bag.
@sarah
Oh yeah, that's true. I forgot about that. What does a fucked up PH balance affect, again?

lol.. read the topic and had a feeling it was Mike Kim.
I would fill up a tub with water and use woolite or any other gentle detergent and swirl it all over the place. Flip the bag inside out... dunk it... agitate. Throw in some vinegar in the tub if your bag really smells. That will help. And like others noted... hang dry for like 2 days.
Did you ever clean your shoes? Lates!

What about having it dry cleaned, or asking a dry cleaner?

My guess is you need to work the soap into bag with some mild scrubbing. I don't think it would hurt to go with harm water either.

Sounds like that Sixpack Monday where I decided to nose-dive into the LA River!!!!
Aside from a temporary taste for human-flesh, a warm-bath and sitting on some ice-cubes afterwards did me fine.

yeah, my cliche chrome bag. but hey, its not so cliche anymore, its all scummy and smells like poo!
@sarah
i read on the other thread bout ur shoot. sorry to hear bout that. that srsly blows!
@al
dude, of course i would post a thread like this. im the master of always being grubby. never listened to momma's cleanliness talks. and yes, got them shoes washed. i tossed those cleats in the wash on gentle and now they smell like regular feet, not a landfill. btw, i had to give up the brown rice. can't substitute regular white rice. just cant :(

Hey Mike, what kind of soap or what process did you use to clean your bag when this happened? You said you hand washed it, but how, specifically, without fucking it up? I got tomato juice mixed with flour all over my bag, and I'm afraid to do anything to it.
