Ok .. So I just received my bail amount for the ticket I rec'd a few weeks ago with WolfPack on Wilshire in Santa Monica.
$380
Nice.
Next you see a cop, tell the group. The pack should looking out for each other. Not creating more chaos and frenzy.

hi paul, sorry to hear about the ticket. i've beaten 5 out of my last 5 moving violation tickets with this process. it should be no different with a bicycle ticket... perhaps even easier. here it is:
Ultimately, what you're trying to do is delay the trial as far into
the future as possible and hope that the cop will either screw up his
requirements in the mean time or when you go to court in 8 months
or so, he will not show up for such an "old" ticket. It's worked 5/5
for me over the last 5 years or so. Worst comes to
worst, nothing lost. Just go to traffic school at the end. Good luck.
1. On the back of your ticket you will find the website to traffic
court. Wait until a couple days before the deadline, log into the
website and request your POSTPONEMENT. This will put back your date
about 2 months.
2. Wait until a couple days before your deadline, log back in and
request TRIAL BY DECLARATION. They will mail you a form to fill out.
This will put you back another month.
3. Wait until a few days before the deadline and mail in your trial
by declaration. I've never won at this point. Just bullshit in some
"I'm innocent" garbage in your declaration. Theoretically, if the cop
does not also send in his response to your trial by declaration, you
WIN at this stage. Otherwise, you'll get a letter in a month or so
saying you're guilty.
4. Within ten days, go to the courthouse (or get it online if you
can find it) and fill out your TRIAL DE NOVO. You'll get a new trial
date for about a month in the future. You're now about 6-7 months
from your ticket date.
5. Go to court. If the cop doesn't show up, you WIN. If he does,
fight it the best you can (I've never seen anyone win). Ask for
Traffic School. And do an online traffic school.
As you can see, most of the steps you can do on the phone or on the internet. Just be sure NOT TO MISS any of your deadlines.

Are you saying you beat 5 out of 5 with that?
Why? the cop didn't show or what happened on each win?

Also I understand that you might not get a point of your license for a bicycle violation.
Can anyone confirm this?

I did exactly the same thing the poster above did, and was found not guilty.
I can't stress enough how well this process works. The cop has more important things to worry about than filling out paperwork for some guy who ran a red while riding a bike.

I just sent you a post on the the forum thread.
I see so, asking for the trailer by declaration gives you another shot of them not doing the work and getting it dropped.
If you are found guilty you can ask for a TRAIL.
Ok so here is my attack,
1. Go to court house pay fine plead not guilty ( I have already asked to have it at a county seat court)
2. Do a trial by declaration . If they respond then go to trial.
3. Post pone trial a long as possible. Hopefully when trial comes he won't be there.
Any adjustments?

Do everything in the same order that indigis suggested.
1) Postpone
2) Trial by written declaration. If you are found innocent, congrats! If not, go to step 3.
3) Trial de novo.
Everything (mostly) can be done online at
http://www.lasuperiorcourt.org/ Do not even waste your time by appearing in person to do any of that.
The only time I actually set foot into the court was because I was too broke to mail the paperwork (trial by written declaration forms) in and I wanted to deliver it the day before the due date for maximum stallage. Even then, I just went to the traffic window...not an actual courtroom. Paying the bail, and submitting your written declaration can be done by mail. The postponing of your "appearance" (in this case, your appearance is actually your written declaration) can be done online.

In my situation, just recently in Santa Monica. I received only a 30 day postponement. Then the courts, gave me 30 days to turn in the trial by declaration. They sent the bail and due date for 30 days from the citation being issued. Received the ticket 12/7/7, had to turn in the trial by declaration 4/7/8. Four month from the time of the ticket. Let see what happens.
I just noticed I spelled "trial" "trail". I'm leaving it in, puey on youe who complains about my spelling. Skidmarcus is right, it is charming.
This ticket process is like a trail of steps.

For what it is worth, I had a judge deny me access to traffic school when I showed up in court, despite the fact that I was eligible for it. My assumption is that he was pissed about the long list of delays and postponements on my case since he gave the guy before me, who was busted for speeding with 5 open warrants for prior moving violations, permission to attend traffic school to get out of 2 of them. He wouldn't confirm or deny my suspicion, but there was n other possible justification for denying me traffic school on a ticket that was utter bullshit (running a stop sign at 5mph at 3am in order to coast into a gas station after running out of fuel in the middle of the fucking desert).

NOOOOOO! Paul. Read my instructions. Don't go anywhere. Follow the guidelines. I won once because the cop did not do his written declaration and 4 times because he didn't show up for the court case which came up between 7 and 9 months after the original ticket.

PaulyD you being unfair my friend. I was also part of the group of 5ish that rolled up to the 711 with you where there were 2 patrol cars parked in plain view. from my POV we were slowing down and I heard at least one person call the light and the cops including myself... even so, a few still rolled the light in their own sneaky right turn u-turn way or whatever else.. it's not exactly fair to say that we were not looking out for each other and implying that we are creating chaos and frenzy. not cool. people are def looking out for each other as well as looking out for themselves. does this mean there isnt chaos at times? of course not. but to imply that we're trying to create chaos is not accurate. all who ride know they are expected to actively work to keep themselves and the group out of harms way. but be forewarned that it's LA and things happen that are out of anyone's control.
on another note, if you aren't going to fight the ticket or go through with all the procedures mentioned above, you might do well to at least show up for court rather than just pay the bail. I recently got a speeding ticket and the bail amount was listed as $280 (or something close dont remember exactly) but when I showed up for court the judge reduced it to half and I was able to get traffic school. I DO remember the judge saying beforehand that people who plead not guilty and go to trial are less likely to be given the option of traffic school

Hey guys,
Reviewing what you wrote the only thing I see that could add another level of defense is to go to the arraignment plead Not guilty after asking for a Change in Venue, Then when they give you a court date it is out of the 45 days. If so, I WIN If not, THEN change to written Declaration.
Is that possible?

I got a ticket for running a red and the date scheduled for court is tomorrow.
i want to request an extension but i lost my ticket/citation number while moving recently.
am i kind of just fucked and i have to go to court tomorrow? i can't find the citation number online

yea i just got back.
2 other people showed up that were told to come today/had the same date on their ticket.
cops probably just messed up on the date.
