Does anyone here do this? I need a new fan put into my notebook, preferably as cheap as possible. The fan in here now took a shit and now my computer over heats on the regular and goes soooooooo slowwwwwwwww. If you are a laptop fixer, please hit me up here or email me at adershimer@gmail.com THANK YOU!!!

they sell external fans at staples and whatnot...I am using one right now! cheap quick fix. My laptop's hard drive gets so hot it melts itself. so yeah.

I thought about getting an external one but I think I'd rather just take care of it once and for all, and completely. It's been turning itself off lately, totally annoying!!

yeah I had to do both. replace the hard drive AND get a fan. Dells are pieces of shit

haha how did you know I'm on a dell!?!
the hard drive is fine, if a little small. this is actually the only problem I've had with this computer, other than having to replace the AC adapter, and I've had this for over 3 years.

lol...my comp that has to have a fan is a dell. thing's run hot ever since I got it. I've had this since my first year of undergrad though so I guess its not too bad. I also use a vaio. it runs pretty cool, which is nice

yeah this has always run a little warm but at least it worked. it can barely process anything at this point. i need the fan asap. also I want to do it cheaply in case it doesn't fix it. if I have to buy a new computer I don't want to invest a bunch in this one first.

I'm sure someone will see it who has his number. Thing is, his number isn't always connected. But by all means, if it's really that important get it checked it asap. I know I have a lot of important stuff on my mac that I can' function without.

well I'm using it to post this thread, but it overheats and turns itself off, and it's been going slow, so I'm trying to get it fixed asap. I know it's the fan for sure, dell diagnostics told me so haha

if he doesn't get to you, i also can replace that fan.
I used to be an IT tech and have completely dissassembled my laptop (dell inspiron) to replace the mouse and monitor and put it back together. (works fine)

These laptops are going for 100-200 on ebay. You sure it's worth spending the money to fix it? I might look into getting a cooling pad like was suggested. It might work.

well unless I sell my bass amp I don't have any money to buy a new laptop so I'm trying to figure out the cheapest solution that will actually work.

Check newegg. They have stuff that has free shipping. Also Fry's might have the cooling pad on sale there.
