i was thinking back to SMCM a month or two ago. i waited outside in the pouring rain for fifteen minutes waiting for the ride. apparently bianci louis was there just after i left and we didnt get to ride together.
has this ever happened to anyone, where you show up to or plan a ride and youre the only person there?

Every ride I plan up in the desert.
I post these things up on various sites, but it seems as though no one really uses their computers too extensively up here.
That and I also blame everyone being overly addicted to things with a motor.
And the wind gusts.

I showed up to a LBCM ride one time, a long time ago, way before MR. It was just me waiting, and this chick pulled up on her bike. Turned out she was a reporter from the local paper, doing a story on LBCM. The only ones that turned up for the ride was me and her.
We both had some shit to do, so we just chalked it up to lameness, and went our separate ways. How many of you would love to have a reporter show up to do a story on your bike ride? Yeah, and she would have done it from a fair perspective too.

for some reason i thought the title of this thread was gonna be "a ride where no....body knows your name" and now the theme from Cheers is stuck in my head.

Well, I also counted a measly, 10 bikes at the college bike-rack over the last, 3 months.
Yet, there's always a long line of traffic going in or out of the college, and campus-police, along with sheriff's dept are always dealing with road-rage incidents here.
Namely, the ones dealing with the fights over parking spaces.
Let us not forget Bear Valley and Mariposa roads near the 15 on/off-ramps.
With Jack Shit else to do up here, it's all about going to the chain-fancy restaurants and catching a movie at the mall on a Friday night.
While doing OTR for a year, I was usually glad when I picked up a load in Fontucky and hauled ass right past this circus of a town.

the "nobody showed up" thread title is misleading. someone showed up - you did. its just that no one else did.

I live next to LBC, but I felt like Bentstrider-in-the-boondocks when I hosted an "Unemployment Ride" at noon on a Wednesday a year ago.
I showed up, but nobody else did.
I still have a sad little stack of spoke cards on my desk.

Not really the boondocks out here, just a case of the lone cowboy(me) living amongst the cattle(majority up here).

RBI has a good point.
now, everybody close your eyes....
If there's an MR ride, and nobody is there, does it still make a noise?

...no one
remembers your name........that sounds more accurate of some party rides
