This Weekend Rides

It will be a weekend of huge rides (LACM, Peoples Ride, 328, etc) so this might be a good time for some friendly reminders.
Bring lights! Let's not give the cops a reason to ticket you nor should you be invisible to the cars.
Wear a helmet if you can. Especially if you are under 18 yrs old...it is required. Your brain is the most important part of your body.
Stay to the right. Three hundred, 400 or 1000 bicycles in the streets is wonderful, but let's stay to the right. Leave the left lane open for cars and emergency vehicles. Always pull over to the right curb when ambulances or police cars are flashing their lights and sirens and heading in your direction.
Clean up your mess! Please pick up your trash, and any other trash in your vicinity, at the rest stops. Let's not be a barbaric horde that rampages through an area leaving trash, body excrement and disarray.
Hold your damn line! Don't stop abruptly or swerve wildly. Call out your intentions.."Slowing." "Stopping." The weekend's rides will be large and fun, but you must ride safely, courteously and intelligently.
Aid other riders. Help out with the with the flat tires or the broken chains. Let's not leave this job to Stillline and Eddieboy.
Finally, party responsibly. Let's take it easy out there. Step back from the alcohol if you are too inebriated. We need everyone to be safe and relatively coherent. We are on bicycles and you can get hurt. So let's watch out for each other and take care of each other.
Let's ride!
