So.. as much as I like riding... I got pulled into the whole drinking stuff at a SFVCM ride in 07... Ever since that... It goes hand in hand and hopefully not too much on my part.
What do you guys like to drink on the rides? Other than Tecate... I'm looking for something not as heavy as a 12pack. maybe a cocktail in a water bottle?

I'm switching to wine and sangrias this summer. Easier to carry, more compact, and doesn't need as much maintenance. Could even be cheaper.

@User1
Yeah... sounds a lot easier to carry around. What's the law on flasks? Has anyone ever had one on them... been searched... and did they just pour it out? I know JJ (speaking of.. where'd he go? JJ from the valley) had them plastic bottle flasks types like cheap vodka stuff. I mean... w/ cans of beer you can have a 6 pack in your bag and they are all sealed. But w/ the flask... that's technically and open container. What do do...

You can get your drunk on now without even going to Nighttrain or MD20/20.

That's at least three times more than beer isn't it?

if you want to carry a flask, i suggest the surly flask.
ive always wondered if it would fit my 8oz flask, because you know, those two extra ounces are needed.

How's the flask even staying on the cages? I've never seen you w/ a flask. You know.. .I've tried doing the "one handed twist off the cap of the flask" while riding and it's kinda tough... like i don't have enough thumb strength.

the flask i have is a limited edition one with some stupid metal bands name laser etched into it. there were only 72 of them made for a tour a few years ago, so for the most part i keep it on the shelf where it collects dust.i havent used it in a while because i stopped drinking whiskey and doing stupid things.

@rbi...
You had a thing w/ the "sparks" for a while. Whiskey... aye? Mighty fine on a cold night. And! (not to sidetrack) I still have your lens. I haven't forgot.

yeah i havent had a sparks in a long time. i feel like my tastes have been refined after being introduced to bev-mo. if you are looking for a drink that wont take up space and will get you drunk, might i suggest a mephistopheles? roughly 16% for a 12oz bottle!

that is not me, but whoever owns it is a stand up individual. basic html will post images into the body of a thread.
img src="photoaddress" and then just use the greater than/less than signs on either end of the tag and viola!

The viola is a bowed string instrument. It is the middle voice of the violin family, between the violin and the cello.
The casual observer may mistake the viola for the violin because of their similarity in size, closeness in pitch range (the viola is a perfect fifth below the violin), and nearly identical playing position. However, the viola's timbre sets it apart: its rich, dark-toned sonority is more full-bodied than the violin's. The viola's mellow voice being frequently used for playing inner harmonies, it does not enjoy the wide solo repertoire or fame of the violin.
(sorry RBI, I had to do it) :)

Awesome. THX for the html tutorial.
And for the viola.
Now ... where were we? Drinking?
I've been classing things up with wine lately. With screw-tops, so you can close them back up again when you're done. Little bottles (like on airplanes) also work, but the ratio of booze to packaging is too low for my liking. stilline, I'm an asshole and can't remember your lady's name. She was ridin' classy-style with a bottle of red on the RWNN.

15.2% OMG!! Time to follow your lead. You are a tad bit lighter than I ... but 15.2% should do it. I'm sold. Time to visit BevMo. You mentioned Whiskey earlier... American whiskey or the Scotch whisky? Either way.. we should do a "tasting room".. kinda like a Tom Leykes thing.. I had a bottle of Lagavulin.. that I've been drinking... omg... this has been a complex whisky to drink.

i was keeping it classy and going straight for the jack daniels. 100% rock and roll.
the smcm in december where sexy got a ticket while dressed like santa claus, i came to the ride packing a bottle of 25 year old port. i shared some of it with pc.
the mephistopheles is kind of expensive for a single bottle of beer (close to $7) but its worth it. its got some crazy flavors hiding inside of it. liz said it reminded her of the taste of cigarettes and road tar. drink it warm and drink it fast.
