I would say that a reliable one would be Helen's Cycles they are all good but the one on broadway in santa monica is great. Bike Attack. There are other ones but what kind of bike are you looking for in particular.

bikesdirect.com is awesome for cheap new bikes.
Wheelworld and Performance Bike both have online and actual stores, and they'll match their own and each other's internet pricing which is cool if you want a decent deal without waiting for things to show up in the mail.
Los Angeles Bicycles on Hoover by USC sells new/used bikes and parts at decent prices.
bellsbikeshop.com sells decently priced fixie stuff.
pricepoint.com has some fairly decent deals (like $19.99 for 10 inner tubes).
ebikestop.com has good prices as well.

nashbar is ok
good selection and sometimes you can find some deals
they have their own brand for a lot of components, at half the price of the name brand stuff. quality is ok on this stuff

bikeisland.com has the best deals on tools that i've seen. they have Park Tool's Advanced Mechanic Kit for $230. same kit goes for $300 at Performance.

http://www.bicyclewheelwarehouse.com/ is a good one for wheels. Anyone else have one for wheels? Any wheels on sale somewhere?

Nashbar.com for sure.
They have generic (Nashbar) versions for all the tried-and-true products, they're usually about 20% cheaper than name-brand.
