It's been a tremendously wonderful experience!
I paid $449 for the bicycle, and that included shipping and handling. It was shipped directly to my door and then my dad and I put it together.
Their customer service is OUTSTANDING. I had a couple problems with the bike (One of the problems was my fault and the other one might have been too? The chainring was bent) and they offered to pay for the repairs without seeing photographs or anything, just told me to fax 'em the bill. Fortunately, they didn't charge me at I. Martin for the repairs!
So yeah, I'd recommend them. It's been a wonderful experience and I love the bike so much!
I turned to bikesdirect because a) I had a meager budget for my new bike and b) I'm pretty short, so I need a little bike (Hard to find used little bikes in proper condition). Putting the bike together with my dad was a really nice bonding experience.
Hope this helps!
And hey! Looks like we might be hanging out soon! (Re: Ghost bike in WeHo.) You can meet "Lola Divine" in person!

Bikesdirect is awesome.
No tax, no shipping fees, the price listed is how much it costs to have the bike show up at your house.
It takes an hour or two to get it properly set up at your local bike co-op, but for the money saved, it's hard to beat.

http://www.republicbike.com/ good place to get a cool looking bike on the cheap- you custom build it online and pick out all the colors and they build it and ship it

Republic bikes is where you go if all you care about is color coordination. If you'd rather have decent parts, a chromoly steel frame instead of hi-ten, would rather have more than 3 sizes to choose from, etc., etc., you're much better off with bikesdirect.

All the classic bikes you'll ever want.
Since you like classic and pink bikes, here's a shot of my 1982 Schwinn Traveler, not quite in original condition.

Sweet lookin bike HappyLand! I looooooovve chrome lugs! The Bottecchias are some of the purdyest bikes ever put together. Here's a
link to a Bottecchia that looks about the same as your pop's. Sexy looking bike, yeah?
Thanks for posting.

@JB
Awww! Love the pink Schwinn! I feel like I only ever want pink bikes from now on. It's funny cause as a kid I hated pink cause it was a "girl's color," but now I love it....
@User1
Yeah, the chrome lugs are gorgeous. They have all these beautiful details. I wish I could ride my dad's bike, but I can't, since I am so gosh darn short!
But I am really glad I've convinced him to take that baby down and ride it! It had been hanging in the garage for a while.
His bike is named Vito. Mine is Lola Divine ; }
@aksendz
Thanks!
