Abandoned Tandem Frame found in Venice!

So I found this on Thursday night around 18th and Speedway.
Cruiser style tandem frame stripped of most components. Has a Trek emblem on the front, really cheap derailleur on the rear.
First, does anyone recognize this bike?
Second, what in the hell can we build out of this thing ? I've never been to the BKW, but that's probably a better place to keep this than the back of my Volvo.

tandem tallbike?
is it possible?

it would be a good base for a normal tallbike. the long wheelbase would make it wheelie proof.

btw, the tandem in that photo is THE sketchiest freak bike I think I've ever seen. Look closely at its construction. AND, that guy was out riding it, by himself most of the time, in the rain. I love San Diego.

the tall tandem frame(s) is locked to the wall inside the warehouse we partied at in the rain. everything else has been removed.

Ha! Did the people from the club lock it there, or was it abandoned?
