I like that they were like, "oh move guys" from probably the most frequently camped spot in the area, which we did to a spot they recommended and still this shit!
I'm fighting it and countersuing. The ranger that wrote my citation told me he was going to write a regular ticket for $250 but his supervisor overrode him and sent me a Class A Federal Misdemeanor.
Nope, no bail. I'll get arraigned some time in August/September, most likely in Barstow on the Marine Logistics Base, I'll plead not guilty, and then there will be a trial towards the end of this year or early next year.
I could probably use one or two people at my arraignment to try to have the charges dropped but it probably won't work.
It is state control. This supervising ranger literally does not want anyone to have fun in the Needles district of the BLM. The ranger that wrote me up and that I talked to at length has the complete opposite attitude of that prick supervisor.
The ranger that was onsite saw that we had a Ryder truck and to him that meant "organized event". I only rented the Ryder truck because it gets windy as fuck out there and it was way cheaper than a motorhome. If it had been windy we could fit way more people in the back of the truck to chill out of the wind than we could fit in a motorhome. We were lucky and there was no wind until we left this year.
We had no poker ride, many of us rode around and hiked around and played on the railroad tracks and flew kites and banged on water tanks and did ad-hoc critical masses but there were no fucking organized events.
They were certainly aggro when they first approached me, then they mellowed out after talking with me for awhile.
First thing was "is that your sign on the highway? IT'S BLOCKING TRAFFIC!!!" Hahahaha, yeah, right, it was a 12" x 18" sign that was in the dirt over 6 ft from the asphalt.
I was actually referring to San Bernardino Co. Sheriff.
They've actually had quite a fair share of accidental shootings and cases of excessive force than any other department.
Hell, while other adjacent departments are lenient on some things, the stormtrooper deputies up here treat everyone that isn't them like dirt.
Brad
I have plenty of money and would be willing to help you with the fine and even lawyer fees to fight this. By helping you out financially I think that would take away all of the fun you have talking about your victimization by the BLM, so I just stay out of it and read your post from a distances. Have fun and don't forget to bring a towel.
