Can't you go to USC Dental school and get a check up for real cheeep. Teeth are genetic. Some people don't get cavaties and drink lots of soda, some people don't eat sugar at all and get cavaties every year. It is the luck of the draw.

I don't know how much a cleaning is, but USC dental school would likely be your best bet if you have no insurance. Or, there's a dentist at valley community clinic...look them up.

apparently i got kicked off teh insurance plan at the beginning of age 24.
and yes, i'm bitching about my dental work.

Dental Insurance doesn't cover much these days. Get out the phone book and call a few dentists and see what they charge for a straight cash cleaning.

I"M GOING TO SCHOOL FOR A DENTAL MAJOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Look it really depends on the dentist you go and see. My dentist is so cool he sometimes doesn't write me down in the books. He also volunteers at the city collage and encourages patients with low incomes to visit the dental program and have their cleanings and X -rays there. So check the city collages with dental programs thats your best bet and way cheaper.

It's like going to a yoga studio. When I needed a tetanus booster after jabbing myself on a rusty bike it was $20...now they have a new dental clinic.

To answer your original question. It just depends where you go.
You get a better price from new dentist who are building there client base. Established dentist with good reputations cost $80-$120 for check up, x-rays and cleaning. Fillings cost $120-$250 depending on the severity, but usually $125. Follow the dudes advice and floss you teeth. Maintain a healthy diet and reduce your acid forming food intake like sugar..
