Bring your freak Bike..tall bike..short bike..tandem..whatever you have....just bring it and make our TEAM MIDNIGHT RIDAZZ ALC participants PROUD when we roll up in style at the VA Center in Westwood around 3pm. We'll greet them at the closing ceremony of the 2009 AIDS/LIFECYCLE ride.
Oh! Great! I was just going to post a ride to this... but looks like you beat me to it.
I suggest we leave at 2:00 from whatever destination. I was thinking Orange 20 area... but if you think there's a better meet up, that's cool.
I'm in!
oh wait, i just saw that meet up is at 12, and ride at 1.. so I assume there will be a ride beforehand... and then we'd just end up at the VA Center... which sounds like a good idea. Stoked!
I think I speak for nearly everyone who did ALC last year, that one of the fondest memories of the ride was waiting in the staging area before the official ceremony and then suddenly seeing tall bikes approaching over the fences, and the ensuing mad dash of hugs and cheers that confused the hell out of the organizing staff. Glad to hear the freak bikes will be part of the welcoming committee again.

I might not make the start of Angelopes due to another commitment earlier in the day, so I may just head straight to the VA. If anyone else wants to meet at the BD around 2pm, let me know.
Where do you guys wanna meet on the westside? Media Park on Venice? I only posted the ride and hope to have the meet up details posted....The rest is up to all of us. I was thinking we should leave at 1pm sharp (not bike time). ride for a while, stop for a beer, ride to the V.A. center by 3pm, stay for the ceremony, then head over to Bikerowave's summer party.
You know what? Me too. I can't make it to a west side start... so I'll post a ride to the VA for 2:00 at the Bike District. Even if it's just RBI, and me joining you!
Richie is on ALC so he wont be riding with us, BUT I dare someone to ride Kafourki Sky. You're limbs will lose blood from the altitude and the lice of 1,000 cats will seek your crotch!
The ceremony starts at 4pm. we should arrive at the VA by 3pm. I figured start riding at 1pm for a bit, stop for a beer, continue riding, meet up with the east side.....then ride in to the VA.
This is everyone's call.....check out the video again....there was a lot of riding before the ceremony as it should be again this year.....
just ride with us from the bike district. we will stop for beer somewhere along the way and then drink them at the va while we wait for the alc team to arrive.
Thanks to everyone who came out to meet us. Sorry you got the bum's rush from the VA bastards. The hustle ride back from the VA to the Bike District was fun too.
Richie was on the AV squad, so I can only assume he was around somewhere, filming the closing ceremonies.
dude... i dont think ANYONE knows what happened. they told us to go one way then another because it was an "unlawful gathering" and then as we started leaving, we looked back and saw harry and brad getting arrested or cited or i dont even fucking know!?
Brad what the hell happened?
Ps. is fat crotch is probably one of the fed officers?

get off the forums asshole. what the fuck is wrong with you that you have to start a new login just to put down two of the coolest fucking ridazz. your an idiot.
what happened? one or two of the cops decided to be dicks and cuff then lecture harry and brad who were rightfully questioning why we had to leave and why we couldnt walk around. we had all come to support our team just like everyone else at the event and they told us to get out. they then made gary delete all his photos from his camera when he showed up and decided to document the debacle. in the end it seemed like it was just one or two cops being pricks.
DUDE! seriously! it was the lamest thing ever!.... motherfuck totally ruined something that was meant with the greatest intentions! Whatever though....
Coldcut, you didn't make it out with cruss mob?

Larson's account of what happened is correct. I can add this though....The sidewalk had lots of people walking to the ceremony so I simply asked why we couldn't walk on the sidewalk with the rest of them. The Sargent said to leave....I started filming him and asked for his name and badge number. He twisted my arm up around my head 3 times and took my video camera and a few minutes later deleted the video of him. Not sure if anyone here has had their arm twisted like that....i kept telling him he was going to break my arm. The arm is not supposed to be twisted in that manner. It hurts a lot to lift it over my head and my wrist is in pain too. I was told I was detained for "filming on federal property." I went to file various complaints against 2 of the officers at the V.A. today but have to go back when the Chief is there. The Watch Commander on duty was the one who cuffed me...talk about uncomfortable situations.... I asked to be uncuffed and a late arriving officer had me uncuffed.
If you were there and didn't receive an email from me this morning, please send me your email address.

Thanks for you and Liz for putting this ride together. Rolling up and Al playing Brick House was priceless. I think it was Brick House? Anyways it was great showing the love for our ridazz there at the compound. The spoke cards looked awesome too Liz.
