I need to get from midcity LA to Woodland hills. I'll take the train to a NoHo stop. what is the best route from there? I see a river on the map is there a path next to it? ideas?

the chandler bike path goes all the wayyyy to the west valley. when you get off the red line station, cross the street as if you were going to the orange line platform. there is a bike path sign. take taht all the way.

Miracle of miracles, there's actually a bike path from (mostly) the NoHo station to Warner Ctr. Just follow the Orange Line from the Red Line.

I'd get a Civic Hybrid or smaller. The problem is all the bikers on the bike path.

better yet, why not get a bus and drive it between the orange line bike and bus paths.

its a nice scenic bike path! be aware that the path picks up again at Balboa. go left on Balboa towards Ventura pass the parking entrance the park, follow the path beneath Balbao and pop on the other side of the street and continue on the path to the Warner Center. its approximately 5 miles to Topanga Cyn.
