We got pulled over on our tandem in West Hollywood during the Through the Looking Glass ride. Would any of the wonderful witnesses be able to provide us with their names and info, or any of the photos or video they may have taken?
You can e-mail us at team_creanberry at yahoo dot com. Thanks!

We got pulled over for running a red light . . . and wearing glitter and spandex.

if they gave the "stroker" a ticket that should be thrown out on its face.
But word is there was no reason to ticket in the first place. Glitter spandex a crime in Echo Park maybe ... but in Hollywood NO FUCKING WAY!

It sucks how the cop just picked you guys out. I was a little ahead of you guys at the light but I was a little behind you when the cop decided to call you out.

I was behind the cop car and saw the jackass move the cop did getting to you guys. The cop was on the right side of the pack on Santa Monica Blvd. When we made a left on that street you guys got pulled over on. He hit his lights and muscled his way through the pack to get to you guys.
Not sure why both of you would get a ticket for running the light. Should be interesting hearing that explanation.

i received a ticket around 15 minutes later while i was on the sidewalk, for running a red light that i didn't run because i was in the front of the pack. those pigs were fucking incredibly stupid and douchey. according to them i was being "aggressive" by trying to assert my rights and look out for the other riders as well.
the most fucked up thing about it is the !@#$? pig who wrote me my ticket was too bitch made to even "write" it. he wrote it out, but he put another officers information. and when i repeatedly asked him for his badge number, he kept ignoring me. i would assume that's pretty illegal. can a cop write a ticket for another officer?
fuck la county sheriff's. can't wait for the day when you take dirt naps.

At least the ticket will be half as much, for the both of you! Unless the cop gave you two tickets. Whomever it was that got the ticket should claim that they weren't the one driving.

Coldcut, we didn't realize until today that you ended up getting picked off because you stayed to watch (and document) what was happening to us. I am so, so sorry. Would you mind e-mailing us at team_creanberry at yahoo dot com?
To the others who are asking who got the ticket . . . the ticket was given to Ryan, who was on the front of the bike. I guess I keep saying "we" got it because we share the bike, we share this screen name, and we'll split the cost of the ticket if we don't successfully fight this together in court. We're a team.
I'm the stoker, and I'm still scratching my head over why the cops asked me, "the one in silver," to pull over (do I bail out while the bike is rolling? Throw my body weight until I make Ryan crash?), and then had us both place our hands on the hood of their vehicle. I've always wondered what would happen if a cop pulled our tandem over, and now I know.

Really? No one? We've had one witness e-mail us. Isn't there anyone else? Any photos or video taken? Pretty please? I saw a bunch of you guys out there and truly appreciated everyone staying to witness (and apparently one guy getting a ticket for being there) . . . but we're planning to fight this in court and we need people's contact information.

Thanks again.
By the way, this "special task force" for party rides that we've had threatened against us is bullshit. Where are they gonna get the money to start THAT? (And even if they could afford it, would taxpayers stand to see their money spent that way?)

BUMP!
and I wish there was a return of the S.L.O.U. Ride, I forgot what the anagram stood for, but it had to do with UNICORNS. If cops hate bike rides in WeHo, what would happen if they pulled over a flaming flamboyantly unicorned rainbowed-out mass ride in front of say, come clubs on Santa Monica Blvd.? It would totally expose cops as haters for sure. I have total Rainbow-Pride!

Considering we were dressed in glittery gold and silver, I'm not sure we could have been any more FABULOUS, unicorns or no.
We're still hoping for photos of our being detained on the hood of the car. Anyone?

hey there, sorry for the late reply but i've been busy these past few days. it's not your fault i got a ticket! i don't like to see riders falsely ticketed. those cops were just douche bags. they forced there way into the pack very aggressively before they picked you out. afterwards they kept kept intimidating everyone else who stopped by showing up in multiple units an walking around with a flashlight looking for lights on their bikes. i'd love to help you fight that ticket.

Actually, apparently a "special task force" already exists. The officer who ticketed stilline at LACM testified that he was part of it.

Marcus, the SLOU ride is "Special Love of Unicorns" it's the ride we do every year during the weho pride parade. I havent posted it for this year yet, it's still a way off... I guess it could have other uses...

Coldcut - thanks, and we'd love to help you fight yours, too (ticketing riders for running a red light when their only "crime" was witnessing the ticketing of someone else is wrong, wrong, WRONG). All four of us (dannyzuko too?) could go in together . . . we're planning on contacting a lawyer knowledgable in cyclist rights. Would you mind e-mailing us at team_creanberry at yahoo dot com? Thanks so much!

the thing we have to be very carful about is incedents with cars. the only thing they will use to get the publics atention is saying that these rides atack motorists. everyone hear nows that 99% of the time there is an incedent with a car its because the car was acting viciously. but you know the media will twist it around and say we are setting out to destroy cars. and people will beleave it. and that is the main thing that will get the publics attention and give them justification to start a task force.

Testified, like in court? Or testified like in church? I take anything that a cop says on the street with a big grain of salt.

Hey Team Creanberry,
After talking to the girl I was riding with that night, we concluded we're both of use to you in your endeavorers. We were behind the cop car and sitting at the light, turning left when we saw the car pull out from sitting on the right. The car was sitting, parked on the right when the pack was passing them. We waited for the light to turn green. You guys were in front of us.

You can take my statement right here.
I was further back in the pack than you guys, I went through the light as it turned yellow, there is no way you guys could have run a red, as the ride stopped at that light (well was stopping when it changed) then proceeded as it was green. I had hopped off my bike to make others stop at the light, and by the time I got back on, and started rolling again, the light had shifted to yellow.
Being that you guys were half a block in front of me, there is no way you ran the light.
