PEDICAB
Has anyone seen, this bike in person? Has anybody ridden it, or know anybody who has ridden this pedicab.
It looks pretty cheap. It might be made a better ride with better components and wheels.
They are in South Gate, I sent a question if I would be able to try it. With there no pick up rule, I doubt they will accommodate me.

That looks like a P.O.S. pedicab, but if the price is right buy it and take it on Ridazz with a sound system and lights.

Ugh -that thing is butt ugly and the eBay posting made me want to throw up (teal background?!).
You can buy a bigger indian rickshaw from a guy in Culver City for 300, disassembled.
The really good pedicabs cost about $5000, and are made by Broadway pedicabs. I've been on one and it was the bomb compared to a peice of crap cab like the one pictured above.

A few years ago I wanted to get a Pedicab and work on Hollywood Blvd. riding people around on the strip. I would imagine some good money could be made.

You could make money if the LADOT gave permits for pedicabs.
Unfortunately, even though they have regualtions that allow them to, they do not issue permits to operate a pedicab.
Pedicabs, to the DOT, are like bicycles - they impede "traffic". Fuckers.
The license would cost you something like $350, plus you'd have to buy and expensive ass insurance policy, cash up front. On top of the cost of your pedicab.
BTW, those workman tricycles look fun - but they also look like paratransit. I mean, WTF? Are you going to be towed into a shower on a bicycle?

A step down from that would be something made in Tijuana and shipped across the border to San Diego. Then below that would be the aforementioned Indian Rickshaws. Below that is shit like what is posted above and hooptie trailers (also made in Mexico) that attach to normal MTB's.
The dude in Culver City selling rickshaws ... I have his email somewhere. I'll try and find it tonight.
