Wow that was my shortest ride EVER! Did the ride continue after the cops stopped the group after the 2nd block? I know the whole thing started when a few ppl up front (about 10 or so) got pulled over for running a red light, then 2 other cop cars swarmed and tried to ticket the WHOLE group, that's when I bailed. LAME!

Damn, we really gotta watch out for cops, it's the end of the month. Them foos got a quota to meet. >.< Our group got stopped once cuz a couple of people didn't have back lights.

The ride continued, unmolested the rest of the night. Great ride Sister Speedy, it's been a while since I've ridden up Sunset that aways.
2zRescue, cops are an inconvenience, hardly ever a reason to end the party early. If in doubt, just pull into a side street, lock your bike and walk up to survey the action.

My red light ticket= :'(
Ahh isn't there some sort of way I could fight this and plead my case?
I remember last time when on a ride when a few people got red light tickets too, they fought it and won?

Thanks to all for coming out on this ride! With the exception of the cops stopping us, we had a good turnout, and a good party! The ride continued on, but we cut it shorter (15miles) to make it back to the highland metro. Overall, a fun time!
Also, if you received a ticket, please email me at speedy brian 2000 @ yahoo dot com
PIcs coming soon!!!

I over heard someone saying that the officer who wrote up his ticket was not present when they ran the yellow/red, so he's going to try and contest it.

Best part of the night: Turning off of Sunset after the strip and bombing that smooth downhill street (was that like 1/2 mile?)

Thanks Brian, that was a lot of fun. It's so great seeing you still working to put out great rides for all of us to enjoy. Veeery appreciated. Well done.
Cool meeting new people out there.....Athena, Remy and Chapin (sorry if I've misspelled your names here), great meeting you guys. Hope to see you out on more events. And send me a note if you're interested in finding out about other biker things not on the board.
My favorite moment of the night: Speedy dressed as a nun, leaning up against a tree as a cop writes him a ticket...
Speedy: Can't you cut a break for a girl in a uniform?
Good one!

I thinkthe two foot patrol cops on Hoolywood and Highland were checking us out at the start. They probably called in more units just as we left. Bad luck. Fight your tickets and argue that the cop who cited you was not the one who saw it. Good luck.

Awesome Speedy! Thank you! I have to say thank you to Officer Shinjo (sp?), I appreciated that he took the few seconds to respond to my questions about what I had done. After explaining to him that a few of us did not run the red light (but that we were pushed beyond it by the police cars, and to not stop short or cause injury, we were funneld unsafely into the gutter) I was pleasantly surprised to have a fello wridah back me up, Thanks Chapin! The officer in charge of Traffic Control totally went way out of line, in fact it was pretty horrific. He came up last out of his care after the situation had already been defusing, ticket book in hand ready to hand out tickets "OK so, we're taking all of them! Were do I start? IT was like a shark feeding frenzy. Again, thanks Officer Shinjo for telling him the he had already spoken to us and that we did not run the light. He hadn't even witnessed the actual infractions.
What I found most impressive about the whole evening was finding out how young some of these ridazz were. How safe they were actually being, how within the law they stood and how well they handled themselves with the cops! Kudos C, A and R!!!
And to those officers just waiting for any small infraction, just hungry to write anyone up for any reason.....FUCK YOU! Go deal with some real problems. It's a waste of tax money, your time and ours!

Glad to hear the ride went on! You Barchops guys/girls put a lot of thought and effort into it and i'm glad it was not a total bust! A couple of us bail'd when they tried to ticket us for something we did not even do. This is just a reminder that at the BEGINNING (first few miles) of a large ride, we all have to mind our P's & Q's. I'm sure it was a combo of things that set the cops off, and were just waiting for someone to run a light. O'well, looking forward to the next one.

awesome ride! the LA peeps kept the party going till the last call at a local bar! thanx brian for an awesome ride! ive missed barchopz a lot!
and btw, if you run a red light and get a ticket for it, dont cry about it. just like we all want to share the road with cars, we should also obey the laws of the road. run a red light, get a ticket. simple.
